Life and Death at Christmas

Last night I found out I was going to be an Auntie again. Despite my brother and his wife using the pill and breastfeeding, she's pregnant again, much to my joy.

This morning my good friend's father died.

It's such a gift, life. Whether you believe in God or not. Reach out. Don't waste it. Embrace it, pain and al,l and share it with the people you love.

I love each and every one of you here at this forum. You are each a gift in my life. You have all brought something special to my life. I think of you all when I'm not on-line and I pray for you throughout the day.

Know that you are loved by me this Christmas, but more importantly, know that you are loved and cherished infinitely more by God.

It's odd, since I have lost hold of God, life seems all the more fragile and precious... and time with loved ones more important. I suppose the loss of the concept of eternity does that.

I can understand the feelings of confusion and how something like this can happen at this time of year.
We should be celebrating the birth of christ and the blood he shed for us 33 years later.

I got a phone call Dec 24th telling me that a close cousin died after being in a coma for 3 weeks. They don't know yet what caused her death but she did have lupus and used illegal narcotics often.
She was 43 and had 2 grown children.

I am very sorry for your loss, Chris. It seems to be more hard around the holidays but I'm not saying it's not hard at other times. I am praying for you healing by Jesus Christ.
