I'm 41 and as far as I see it life is just about over.

I'm in the age when other members of my family start having heart attacks or strokes. I have this constant feeling I won't live past 50. I will never be retired so will work till I die. I look older than I am thanks to my hair going grey and falling out, over weightness because I like eating and aches and pains. Young people at church think I am in my 50's. I hate that. I have trouble walking up stairs and sometimes moving, my back keeps going out and I even have trouble holding the camera up to focus thanks to eye sight problems and now partial hearing loss.

Oh God. Is this really life?

Even if it hurts... You got to keep moving... I was told I should be dead already. I refuse to lay down and make it true. Get Going And Stop Feeling Depressed. Get More Sun. It Helps... God Bless You

Well, all of my gray hairs are earned and well deserved. My kids may be grown but I have grandchildren to enjoy. Just a few weeks ago I hurt my back and am currently having physical therapy 3 times a week - not my favorite thing, but way better than surgery so I'm not complaining.

And as far as life being almost over - tell it to my 80 year old dad and 78 year old step-mom. They took a tour of Italy last fall, drove all over Colorado this past June and are tentatively planning another trip to Europe sometime in 2007 (maybe Germany this time).

I'm older - but in many respects, like a fine bottle of wine, I'm better with age.

I am 48 years old. . .I moved half way around the world 8 months ago (I am living in Korea now). . .I started taking cello lessons a few months ago. . .I am learning a new language. . .I choose to love life!
Maybe I have a different perspective than you. My younger brother died two years ago. It helped me see that every day is precious. I choose to live and have fun. God is so good. . .His mercies are new every morning.
Sometimes my body doesn't move the way it used to, but I am okay with that.
God has healed me, renewed me, and kept me safe!!!!

Love what you said, Yenguccia.

I'm 49 and actually feel better than I ever have. I enjoy life more. I went through my twenties and thirties fighting depression and anxiety and just not feeling well. Now my kids are adults, I'm a grandma and I work part-time.

Gently I will tell you that how you think is how you are. Our bodies do start wearing out at this age, but we can do some things to help slow that process. Exercise, taking the right supplements for you, checking regularly how your relationship with God is doing and spending time with friends. It can change your outlook.

God BLESS you abundantly - in all areas of your life.

Wow, I'm sorry that you're feeling so bad about being 40. It does get better, honestly. I was 44 not long ago, and I'm getting used to being 40 now. What is it anyway but a number? Are we nothing more than numbers? I hope that we are much, much more. Remember that HE knit you together in your mother's womb. :) He doesn't see 'old', He sees the son (I think you are male, please forgive me if I am wrong) that He loves.

All the other things are things that you can work on. It's not too late to start watching your food intake and start some gentle exercise - honestly, it's never too late!

Look up, smile, God is smiling at you right now!!

I'm happy to say yes, yes, yes!

With God's Word and an improved diet you can feel young again. I am in better health now than in my thirties. Things were deteriorating in my body and the Lord impressed me to change my eating habits. I obeyed. New life sprang forth very quickly as I obeyed and applied the word to my life.

Sickness has no place in you child of God. You have been redemed from the hand of the enemy. It will take determination, steadfastness, and change on your part, but it is well worth it.

HEALING… GOD AT WORK WITHIN
1 John 4:4 (New International Version)
You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

… FAITH FOR HEALING
Mark 11:23 (New International Version)
"I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, 'Go, throw yourself into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him.

… PRAYER OF FAITH
Mark 11:24 (New International Version)
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

Healing Scriptures & Confessions
God's Medicine - A Daily Dose

Say these scriptures and confessions to yourself. Meditate on them. Ponder them in your heart. Use them in praise to your Heavenly Father. His Word is medicine to all your flesh!

Exodus 15:26
. . . If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians:
for I am the Lord that healeth thee.
(New English Bible) . . . I the Lord am your healer.
(Leeser) . . . for I the Lord am thy physician.
(Basic English) . . . I am the Lord your life-giver.
(Smith-Goodspeed) . . . for I, the Lord, make you immune to them (diseases).
(Knox) . . . I, the Lord, will bring thee only health.

Confession:
God is speaking to me now, saying, "I am the Lord that healeth thee." He is watching over His Word to perform it. He is the Lord that healeth me. He is healing me now. This Word contains the ability to produce what it says. His Word is full of healing power. I receive this Word now. Healing is God's nature. God is in me. My body is the temple of the Lord that healeth me. God is bigger than sickness and Satan. God is dwelling inside of me, healing me now.

Proverbs 17:22
A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.
(Good News) Being cheerful keeps you healthy.
(Smith-Goodspeed) A happy heart is a healing medicine.
(Basic English) A glad heart makes a healthy body.
(Moffatt) A glad heart helps and heals.
(Jerusalem) A glad heart is excellent medicine, a spirit depressed wastes the bones away.
(Knox) A cheerful heart makes a quick recovery.

Confession:
I have a merry heart. Sickness can't dominate me. What do you think you're trying to do, devil? You can't put sickness on me. I have a merry heart and I'm full of joy!

Isaiah 53:4-5
Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
(Leeser) But only our diseases did he bear himself, and our pains he carried. . . . Through his bruises was healing granted to us.
(Basic English) But it was our pain he took, and our diseases were put on him: while to us he seemed as one diseased, on whom God's punishment had come.
(Rotherham) . . . by his stripes there is healing for us.

Confession:
Surely Jesus hath borne my sicknesses and diseases and carried my pains. He bore them and carried them away to a distance. I don't have to bear what He bore for me. I refuse to bear what He bore for me. Satan cannot put on me what Jesus bore for me. By His stripes I am healed and made whole.

Matthew 8:16-17
When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and
healed all that were sick: That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.
(Norlie) . . . He took away our illnesses and lifted our diseases for us.
(Amplified) . . . He Himself took [in order to carry away] our weaknesses and infirmities and bore away our diseases.
(New English Bible) . . . He took away our illnesses and carried away our diseases.

Confession:
Jesus Himself took my infirmities and bore my sicknesses. He carried away my sicknesses and diseases. He bore them away and removed them. Disease is not mine. Healing is mine. I refuse to bear what Jesus bore for me. Satan, you cannot put disease on me. I refuse to accept sickness. I will not tolerate sickness. Sickness and disease are totally unacceptable to me.

1 Peter 2:24
Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness:
by whose stripes ye were healed.
(20th Century) . . . his bruising was your healing.
Confession: By Jesus' stripes I was healed. Healing belongs to me. I was healed 2,000 years ago by the stripes Jesus bore. I'm not trying to get healed. I've got healing, because by His stripes I was healed.

In Ps. 103 it says He forgives all my inquities and He heals all my dieases. My youth is renewed like the eagles.

Need renewed youth? A disease healed? Sin forgiven?

That's right! I'm looking forward to enjoying my life - and I do see older people who are doing just that. I love seeing them - it encourages me.
