I bought a reconditioned desktop last week. It had no office suite on it.

I was going to buy MS office but but balked at the price. The man in the shop said try Libre Office free download.

Does the job nicely.

there is also open office that i have been using for 12 years now..
it is awesome.. the same as microsoft office.
i just helped my sister to download it, and walked her thru it

LibreOffice is a fork of OpenOffice.org. I use LibreOffice because it comes installed on Linux Mint.

I use Open Office on the Mac to convert the Word files I get from my sons' PCs and one son still uses OO in spite of having Word installed (he's a rebel )

I've been using LibreOffice for years now (and OpenOffice before the fork). It's done what I needed it to do.
