Um... well ACTUALLY...[/i]

If two Christians have a different opinion about the meaning of scripture, isn't debate the only reasonable course of action to ensure an understanding?

I would like to address a question you had about leviticus and mixed fibers earlier:

From what I have learned over the last two days, these are what the early church diciples asked gentiles to follow regarding the law:

Acts15
19- 21"It is my judgement, therefore, that we should not make it difficult for the Gentiles who are turning to God. Instead we should write to them, telling them to abstain from sexual immorality, from the mean of strangled animals and from blood. For Moses has been preached in every city from the earliest times and is read in the synagogues on every Sabbath."

Furthermore, it is also added:

28-29 "It seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us not to burden you with anything beyong the following requirements: You are to abstain from food sacrified to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals and from sexual immorality. You will do well to avoid these things."

This goes back to the chapter in leviticus, Leviticus18, that deals with sexual immorality. According to Jesus, Paul, and this passage in Acts that deals with gentiles on following leviticus, we gentiles are to follow these simple and easy laws. Jesus also said he didn't come to abolish the law, but to fulfill it and affirm it. Paul was in agreeing with these because he preached one must abstain from sexual immorality. Jesus, also preached one must abstain from immoral behaviour.

Definitions of sexual immorality:

noun sexual immorality has one meaning:
Meaning #1: the quality of being lewd and lascivious
Synonyms: licentiousness, wantonness

Type of: evil, immorality, iniquity, wickedness
Encyclopedia: Sexual immorality

In addition, wanton means to be in ignorance of restaint. Since there is clear indication we are to restrain ourselves from sexual immorality, to ignore such commandments is wanton.

Wan·ton·ness
n.

The quality or state of being wanton; negligence of restraint; sportiveness; recklessness; lasciviousness. Gower.
The tumults threatened to abuse all acts of grace, and turn them into wantonness.
Since if we christians continue to act in sexual immorality, we are abusing God's grace within us and turning it into wantonness, rendering Christ's death meanless.

The Reader's Digest Condensed Version of the Law as It Applies to Heterosexuals and Homosexuals

If one is heterosexual and Christian, none of Leviticus applies and one can eat what they want, do what they want, and say what they want and their salvation is assured.

If one is gay, however, ALL the laws found in Leviticus (and Deuteronomy, and Judges, and the last half of Exodus) apply; and one is a dirty, filthy, reprobate sinner whom God has given over to "unnatural desires" for whom True Christians owe not a thing except to barely tolerate their presence by "loving the sinner and hating the sin".

As far as the church goes: gays are good enough to give their tithes, but they shouldn't expect visitation when they (or their partners) are sick, or expect a church funeral should they or their partners die, or expect even so much as a word of comfort because "gays aren't like us -- they're homosexuals."

There. Does this make everybody happy, now?

UL knows that. He has been told repeatedly, but due to cognitive dissonance, he cannot accept the explanations so we continue to get the false, sarcastic posts which misrepresent and pervert what Christians believe and say.
