Looking for opinions of WHY(Really...just the WHY)God gave us a list of what meats we should and shouldn’t eat?

• Because God cares for our health and hygiene.

• They are called unclean animals because they eat unclean food such as decaying flesh, diseased flesh, dead animals, decaying organic matter, sewage, devour other animals for their food and routinely eat flesh that would sicken or kill human beings.

• If we eat such animals we partake of a food chain that includes things harmful to people and make them unclean too.

I take the general point; there was also Peter's Vision in Acts which declared various things - and indeed, people - which had previously been in unclean categories not to be so any longer.

I totally agree! The scientific evidence is now showing the most recent virus, as well as many others, in recent history, were generated by humans ignoring this.
I realize Asian cultures, for the most part, do not recognize the Scriptures. Even, if they did, our Christian pastors have taught us that those laws were not for us or that it was abolished.

Actually that vision in Acts 10 was not about food being declared clean. God was using the analogy of food and applying it to Gentiles. Unfortunately the Scribes and Pharisees had encorporated UN-BIBLICAL traditions(known as the Oral law) later written in the form of the Talmud that declared non Jews as UNCLEAN. That was NEVER written any where in the Torah. As you see Peter declares what the vision was about in ACTS 10:28

So, therefore God didn’t make unclean food clean.
That was not the topic of that event
