Letting Go Second Best

Today I was playing with my friends dog, and she just loves this stone even though she cant chew it or eat it!!
But will she let go of this thing?? No way. So then I had some food she looked at me and wanted it, but she couldnt receive it until she LET GO of SECOND BEST. Well finally she did let go and then enjoyed the sweet food.
You God may be telling us to LET GO of something that we like that is 2nd best, He wants to gives us something, but like he dog, reluctant to give it up. It may a relationship that you are in, and in your heart you know its not the best, but because you are lonely and everyone else has a mate, you are relecuctant to let go and trust God for something a lot better.
Its easy for me to type this but a lot harder to put it into practise.
God may say to you "Let God of 2nd best" and "I will give so much more"
"I am the Lord teaches you to profit and leads you by the way you should go"

I totally can relate.
Breaking up is not easy even if you are the one doing it.

But my thought having struggled and finally listened to God on this matter
is I had to do this to be able to receive what the Lord has for me.
I do not know what that is yet but I know God has my best interest in mind.

ha ha yes. he always looks so sad with those big eyes, but he is spoiled to death. he's actually more hyper than i thought pugs were supposed to be, but he is calming down. sleeping and eating are his favorite hobbies, but when he's awake - watch out! he loves to play and run around the house!
