I am very close to people that some might deem "overweight." My making fun of his looks does not invalidate my claim that he is a liar. Saying that I am making fun of him just because he is overweight is to not look deeply enough at the root of my dislike of his actions.
Kind of like someone who says that when people make fun of them because they're in the fine arts, but at the same time the person being made fun of in the fine arts is a jerk. Being a jerk is the REAL reason they are being made fun of. The fine arts part is only the ammunition. They still earned that disrespect. The person being made fun of doesn't want to see it that way because then they might have to acknowledge to themselves that they are a jerk, and that they might have to change. Heaven forbid!
I don't like the things he says because he is slanted and one-sided. He intentionally does not give the full story so he can spew his opinions and seem like he has a point. THAT IS IRRESPONSIBLE. Michael Moore wants you to believe that the reason people want him silenced is because he deals with "untouchable" subjects. No. That is how he gets his followers--because he seems like he has a noble cause.
The reason people don't like him is BECAUSE HE CANNOT SPEAK THE WHOLE TRUTH. Yet he spouts off like the things he has to say are facts. In that sense, he's like (what used to be) the Iraqi media. In real life, using deception to persuade others to your point of view is always unethical. He would never make it as an objective journalist; he would bring way too much baggage to the newsroom.
Furthermore, can anyone give me a list of at least a couple of items of GOOD THINGS that Saddam has done? And is there a more effective way to take Saddam out of power than through war? There may not even be another effective way. He's been given tons of chances already.
I think I've said all I have to say; if anyone doesn't like it, that's too bad. I don't know any better way to put it.
