  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Of course! This is just one of many pictures I've come across. If there's a cool hotel in your city or state, please share it!

^^JDrops; I've always wanted to try one of those coffin hostels :D - I tried to book one when I went to Tokyo a few years ago but all of the ones I found were for men only.

Yeah, they are mostly for men. Some of them are even apartments where people spend almost more than 500 dollars on. It's ridiculous and a scam. Although a coffin hotel would be a cool experience, it would make me feel claustrophobic by the end of the day.

I'd love to at least try the experience lol. But yeah, no more than one night!

What do you guys think about self-publishing stories on Amazon as opposed to traditional publishing? Good career move? Bad? Depends? Maybe?

All I know is I'm shooting for the stars (traditional).

Maybe you should find some people who have done it. Seems like you might get more quality advice from them.

What do you write Jupiter? Can't offer any insight on publishing methods, that would require actually finishing something I write ;)

Like what Buzz said. Reach for the stars.

I could, thanks. I also read a few articles about self-publishing on Amazon. They were interesting.

I did have a story in mind for a bit now, although I might have to organize it. Yup, finishing. Leonardo Da Vinci's curse, and every 21st century writers' dream.

Cool, so fiction then I gather? I've been working on one fiction story for like the last 3-4 years, and have only done the first two chapters, so I may not be that great at starting either ;) Written those chapters so many times that I could probably just recite them verbatim though.

Definitely fiction.

Oh well. Because you edited it so much, it might be a lot better than any other books churned out without much thought. The first chapter has to be a sharp hook to catch the readers' interest.

What's the genre of your story?

I've been thinking about using a first-person peripheral narrator in my next project. Maybe not the whole time, but at least the first few chapters.

I'm thinking of using first-person too because I can get into the inner thoughts of the character more and what he or she can see. It's perfect since I want to write a coming-of-age story.

Now, to get myself organized a bit...

Adventure mystery type thing I guess. I kind of quit working on it in that format and turned it into a script instead that we are going to try and film soon, which should be fun.

@anewday - Howdy.

Please don't laugh it off lol :D I just want to know how to turn off a girl with minimum effort :p

I had two instances where I handled it real badly. The first girl turned to 'un Christian' behaviours (you know what I mean) to take revenge on me. I still feel guilty about it (that was her aim I guess).

Would a "Lets be friends" be enough ?

Ladies, what turns you off the most about the guy you have fallen in love ?

lol :D

But no, some girls do like me for no reason. They have a serious lack of common sense and of course, eyesight :D

On a serious note, I still worry about her. Still feeling guilty over the whole thing.

:nosepick: in public

or scratching *ahem* certain regions.

Both work great as female repellant. :p

Another thing that works well is getting sloppy drunk and calling them at 3am in the morning with tales of "unrelenting love" followed by not so subtle propositions of a more sensual nature. :ahah:
