  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Let's talk WWE

who is your favorite wrestler, why
NOW: Shawn Michaels

IN THE PAST: Razor Ramon

...how long have you benn watching wrestling?
Somewhere around the mid-90s. I hardly watch wrestling nowadays.

...what is the worst thing you hate about wrestling today?
Jim Ross' voice; too much storylines, not enough wrestling.

Right now I like Heinreich (sp?), Gene Snitsky, and Simon Dean

nothings better than a good heel.

In the 90s I liked Stone Cold, Kane, The Undertaker, Diesel, Shawn Michaels, and Yokozuna

In the 80s I liked Hulk Hogan, The Ultimate Warrior, Andre the Giant, Kamala, Big Boss Man, Jake "The Snake" Roberts, & "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan

I liked a few tag teams back in the 80s and early 90s...
Legion of Doom, The Rockers, Demolition, and the BUSHWACKERS!!!!

But my absolute favorite would be Bret "The Hitman" Hart

Anyone else find it amazing that with the grace of god, Shawn Michaels is still wrestling after having a broken back?? I mean I've had extremely bad back problems in the past and it's extremely painful to have, and it really does'nt help much falling on the canvas's either I would presume, and he's still going, injury after injury he's still coming back...I think that's a miracle from god in itself... Oh, and I'm a very big fan of The Game Triple H...

Favorite Wrestler: Eddie Guerrero and Randy Orton

All Time Fav: Hulk Hogan

I've been watching since the late 80's.

My least favorite thing is how gang warfare ruins a good one on one. You have this awesome battle between 2 very talented men and then the bad guy brings his posse down and ruins it.

Chris Benoit is my favorite. The guy is a tremendously talented technical wrestler. However the "WWE style" of wrestling does not appeal to me very much, especially with Stephanie McMahon and her yes-men writers trying to do too much ha-ha comedy which isn't funny to anyone but her. WWE would most benefit from a WCW-level competitor, which in turn would force WWE to actually put on some good wrestling matches like they used to (versus comedy stuff and run-ins galore and things that drive fans away in droves.)

Hmm Lets See : Tajiri, Christian, and John Cena (Not the whole rap deal though). For the girl I'd pick Stacy Keibler because she doesn't look fake...Other then that all the divas can kiss my little butt haha.
I haven't watched it that long, my boyfriend LOVES it, so I got dragged into it (But I don't mind, I enjoy watching it! :))

Who's here watched NWA-TNA? It's a lot better than WWE. they have a show on Fox Sports Net at 4PM in most areas. AJ Styles, Petey Williams, & Monty Brown are awesome. They have former WWE wrestlers like Jeff Jarett (their current champ), DDP, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Jeff Hardy, Raven, Konnan, Road Dogg (known as BG James), K-Kwik (known as ron killings), x-pac, billy gunn, dustin rhodes (better known as goldust to most of you). There X-division is really awesome and the best part of TNA.

I would watch TNA and I think others would too, if it were in a mainstream cable or local channel not an extra that I'd have to pay for.. I'm kinda getting tired of watching WWE, as I feel they are'nt trying as hard to dishing out some good storylines cuz there ain't anymore competition...

now that Randy Orten is a face (i.e. has a personality) I kinda like him...I've been watching since the Freebirds and the Von Erichs...yes...I'm old...

The Freebirds and Von Erichs-I remember them. Also, hailing from North Texas I was always a big fan of the Von Erich brothers-such a sad family though, and people say that the Kennedys are cursed :(

I've been watching wrestling since I was a little girl, then dropped out of it for sometime in the 90's. I got back into it when I was in college. My grandmother introduced me and my brother to it.

Favourites are/were Shawn Michaels, Randy Orton-who I've always been a fan of (what girl isn't a fan of RKO!), Kurt Angle, Rey Mysterio, Bret Hart, Jake "The Snake" Roberts, Molly Holly, Andre the Giant, Chris Jericho, Brutus Beefcake, Muhammad Hassan, Roddy Piper, Mihcael Hayes, Triple HHH, Batista, Von Erichs (favourite was David), Ricky Steamboat, Nikolai Volkoff, Iron Sheik, and too many more to list.

What I dislike: the storylines are predictable (especially on RAW) or boring (especially on Smackdown!), the various vignettes (most wrestlers can't act), Jerry Lawler, Jim Ross-I really do not like Sooners and I throughly enjoyed watching him being attacked by Hassan on his birthday hehehehehe! The divas-I don't like women being exploited. The bright spot is Trish Stratus though-she can be really funny at times just like JBL on Smackdown!

Last but not least wrestling today is simply not believable. I remember even when McMahon outright said that wrestling was fixed I continued to deny that it was not! During the FEDERATION years the fueds, wrestling, vignettes, et. al were all believable. I feel kind of sorry for the "refs"-they look so incompetent and stupid, and is a person that weak to be "knocked out" by being smashed into a wrestler???

Because of this and other things I'm beginning to be drawn to real sports like the UFC, NCAA/Olympic wrestling, etc.

I agree the WWE would fare much better if there was a competitor on their level. Competition makes people strive to be better then the other guy and to make a quality product. I watched TNA this weekend-it's kind of hard to get into because they have an octagon ring, and I don't know the storylines, but I'm glad to see Nash, DDP, etc.

Dizzy, I go to the Wrestlecrap forums.

Diane
:)
