Just like bad credit can "destroy" your life. Destroy can be considered as severe damage but still operational.thats because you believe that souls are destroyed and annihilated. But because a soul is destroyed doesn't mean it ceases to exist. I drive by my car that has been donated to pick and pull every day. Yes it's destroyed, but no it does not cease to exist. Soul can be destroyed in Hell and still be existing to experience the pain.

No, if a fire is not quenched, that means it is not put out.
I'm just saying what the bible says, the fire was burning corpses, not conscious people.
No, He spoke repeatedly of Gehenna, which is a valley outside of Jerusalem. He never, not once, said that people will go to hell to be tortured forever.

And I answered clearly, I said "the part that says they are corpses," They are dead. Corpses are not conscious of what is happening. What part of being a corpse suggests that the corpse is conscious of what is happening? Remember that you are the one who suggested that Isaiah 66:24 speaks of hell. I'm pointing out that in Isaiah 66 the punished people are dead. This is not the traditional Hell of dead people living in hell being tortured.Wrong. The verse states it quite clearly. "their worm will not die, nor will their fire be quenched". What part of that suggests they are not conscious of what is happening?
What part of destruction do you not understand? of divine retribution, Ev.Matt.25.46, al.: pl., Pl.Prt.323e, al., Phld.Ir.p.52 W.none of that defines destruction as being the end of things, just a temporary reorganization.

Yes, but that is into ones's life. Nor do I consider the Old Testament to be particularly valid, and perhaps even, never valid. I do not expect you to agree with me, and I am not going to try and convince you, however, I feel I have valid reasons for this standpoint.

Matthew 25:41 - "Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels".
And again: Matthew 25:45-46 - "He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’
Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”
I can post more if you'd like, but as I said it's just a start. Remember that the debate is always with the Word of God, not with me. But I like to keep an open mind about these things as well. We learn from each other. God bless.
