Evolution is compatible with the first men having been Adam and Eve.

A being is not a man because they have a DNA similar to ours. A man is a rational animal. That means a body and a rational soul. Therefore, if we ever find intelligent beings on other planets (though ET-enthusiasts calm down, there is 0 evidence by now), they will be men as well.

So even among a population that is genetically identical, there can be two men, Adam and Eve: those two in which God breathed their rational soul.

You do realize that not only is there evidence for the branching and common descent theory of man, but that rational thought is an evolved function, right?

You do also realize that other primates are capable of abstract though, right? Would they be "men" too?
