My wife was completely irrevokably instantaneously healed from depression reading that verse.

That was nearly 10 years ago.

God is good. It is awesome to see Him work. Sometimes when we think we have figured Him out (can we ever!!) then He will work in other ways.
We think of healing coming through people praying for us, or the laying on of hands etc. Then God heals through the reading of a verse. Praise Him.

Actually that's the way I generally expect him to heal, but apart from that your point is well made.
