how is your summer going?
It seems I am either working, taking courses, or having various forms of dental work done. :D Had a whole bunch of fillings, and now I'm going for braces and looking into getting a couple of wisdom teeth pulled like my dentist recommended. :p

It's winter in the Southern Hemisphere when it's summer in the Northern. I'm in Australia, and have been staying inside a lot.

Except for a short trip to Queenstown to do some snowboarding, I haven't done a whole lot but play music and trade futures into the wee hours of the morning. This is what I am doing for work now. I do feel I probably need to get a service job though - if not for the money then just for the social aspect. I tend to live a hermit's life.

My trip to see my parents in Kentucky was decent, although it was really hot. My trip to Florida for a conference was good, although it was really, really hot. On the plus side, I got to see an armadillo in the wild. And my backpacking trip to California? It starts in four days.

It's been an amazing journey.

I'd say the top 3 cool things of Summer 2011 would be
-Getting over that horrible cold.
- Getting a job that will be a good stepping stone
And last, but certainly not least...
-Falling for Austin

You all are having so much fun with your summers.

I've done nothing but dig holes, pick fruit, and study a multitude of things.

Maybe that's a dream come true but it certainly feels like I'm vastly lacking.

I guess.... I got to join this forum.... but my friend's family member died a few days ago and I just want to cry.

My summer has been a really amazing one so far. There's still a lot to be done and it's only because of God's mercy and grace that I've been fortunate enough to experience so many wonderful things. It's not something I take lightly.

* Spending my first summer in a different state has been interesting, to say the least. I didn't know the north could be as humid as the south but apparently it can and sometimes it's actually worse. Also, the birds up here are truly crazy. They have the entire sky to fly in and yet decide that swooping down two feet in front of my bumper is a better use of their time. Who knew!

* Having a lot of great service opportunities has been great as well. Serving at church through Sunday mornings and getting the chance to help run weddings and youth events has been an incredible experience and I'm so humbled that God has allowed me to serve Him and others in so many different ways.

* Getting a chance to talk to a lot of my friends on here has been awesome. Hearing what God is doing in the lives of Sara, Drew, Mary, Ethie, white dove, Jake, and so many others has been inspiring and it makes me so excited to see where He's taking all of you!

* Seeing U2 in Nashville was one of the most amazing nights of my life. It was great to be back in Tennessee and I had the chance to catch up with some really great friends who I miss more than I realized. It was such a relaxing and happy time and singing "Amazing Grace" along with Bono and 45,000 other fans was just an awe-inspiring moment. Add to that the fact that he also brought a blind fan onstage to play guitar at the end of the show and then let the fan keep the guitar was stunning. I'll never forget it.

* And of course, getting to know Caitlin and being on this amazing journey with her has been a tremendous blessing. She's so beautiful and I thank God every day for His grace and the ability to have someone so amazing in my life.:flatt:

This summer has been soul searching and most importantly living my life again.

I have spent the last three years on school and now that it is over I feel a sense of relief but also it seems as though I am trying to figure out what to do next. Its only been two months but I feel like a lifetime as passed from my studies. I need to keep reminding myself that things come in time and in their season, no need to rush, just go with the flow and enjoy the moments I have.

I have spent this summer with my family. A lot of the time I have been with my brother. We have gone to a lot of different places and pretty much explored everything I have been meaning to. I think next one is going to be Huntington Beach so I am excited about that.
Also, he can be annoying. But its lovable annoyance.

Also, this summer has been a time for me to really heal. Its been a very long year for me and a lot of stuff has happened/happening but I am completely ready to move on. I cannot tell you the freedom I feel from it and yet sadness pours in every now and then. I have long prayers and talking to myself in the car has help. lol. So, weird (talking to yourself in the car I mean) but really it helps a lot. Yesterday, I had a intense discussion on how some individuals are and what I can do in order to better myself and not get sucked into negativity. Mostly, to not hold on to hurt but be released by it and free from it. And in the end this summer is going to be for being the best me as I can be. Let it continue into the Fall...my favorite time of year. :)

I am taking things one day at a time.

I miss you so much Stephanie. I hope you come to back soon to visit.

Hi Stephanie. :hi: :hoho:

My summer has been quite good, even though some unexpected hoo-ha has happened. I consider them all blessings and for at least one of them, a learning experience. I've had a lot of time to spend with my little guy and I love it. I have a lot on the table, but I'm trying to prayerfully and wisely decide just what to take off of it and what to pick up. Oh. And I got, like, 17 different tanlines on my back alone. That makes me look like not-so-much-of-an-idiot.
