The Clash and the Mac Lads are Post punk? I can see how the Clash strayed from a lot of stereotype associed with punk rock, and they remain my favorite band of all time, but I do say that I do not feel as if they are post punk...
But I do say that I have not paid that much attention to Post Punk. In the last 8 years I have not managed to get past punk rock.
I am currently stuck on Oi! music and the foreign punk rock, and a little bit of that ska punk (I really think that even though it is the terrible offspawn, and much of the music in this genre is terrible, that bands like Persiana Jones are absolutely fabulous).
I do not see why one would want to move beyond it, and move into something sounding so different.
But I will give it a chance.
I request that someone contact me and exchange with me their best MP3s of Post Punk music, because I do not want to blindly download. I cold get a bad impression if I listened to certain bands or certain songs at random and then tried to make up my mind.
I would like to exchange some MP3s for Post Punk MP3s, and give this all a try.
In return, I will give any amount of RAC or Oi or foreign punk/ska, or dancehall music (that is what I have a lot of), or possibly House music or Drum & Bass if you really wanted to.

Send me a PM if you want to introduce me to Post Punk. Please do. I am curious, now.
