Let me put it in the form of a question...

What would happen if Jesus Christ didn't die on the cross and pay for our sins?
What would become of each one of us if there was no crucifixion and resurrection?
I think Paul answered that question in 1Cor 15:17
And if Christ has not been raised, then your faith is useless and you are still guilty of your sins.

True.
But what are the consequences of sin if Christ is not risen?

I'm not sure such a hypothetical has any real relevance if we believe in an omnipotent, omniscient God who planned the atonement for sin before it ever arose. I mean, God didn't say "oops, what do I do now" when Adam & Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden.

Even so, in 1Cor15 v18&19 Paul goes on to say

Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. If for this life only we have hoped in Christ, we are of all men most to be pitied.

Hi kid,

If the Christ had not paid the penalty for our sin, then each of us would have to stand alone to pay that penalty. We would all die in our sin and there would be no city of Zion coming down from heaven to the earth and God would never speak the words that we are told He will speak after the day of His judgment upon mankind. There would never be a time where God will say, "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." He who was seated on the throne said, "I am making everything new!" Then he said, "Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true." He said to me: "It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. To him who is thirsty I will give to drink without cost from the spring of the water of life."

There would be no Lamb's book of life and thus, no one to hear those words.

But, I am assured that God, when He spoke the very first, "Let there be light", as He began creating and building this realm in which we live, had a plan. He knew and had prepared and planned for the coming eventuality of sin that He also knew would enter into His perfect creation. God has claimed of himself that He knows the beginning from the end and I am confident that He does now and has throughout the existence of this realm of His creating, known these things. I believe that He knew all these things before He even set out to create this realm, but He also knew and had decreed that the sacrifice of His Son would be the just and righteous payment for the sins of others.

We are, each and every one of us, living an existence in which God's overall plan, conceived and set to work since the beginning of this realm, is being worked out. If God had not completed every part of His plan for mankind, then our eventuality would be the same as those who died in the flood and like those of Sodom and Gomorrah. But God did know and God did prepare a way. Praise God!

Just consider also, where would we be if God had never spoken the first, "Let there be light"?

God bless you
In Christ, Ted.

Well, Jesus died for us because God judges sin. This is good news that God judges sin; because this means God cares about us and what we do and what happens to us.

So, if Jesus did not die for us, this could mean God doesn't care what we do or what happens to us.

We humans don't care if ants kill each other and take eggs and baby ants from other ant hills and make slaves. But God is greater than us, much more than how we are greater than ants; yet, He cares about us.

Something I just thought of is that before Jesus came, in the time of the "Old Testament", we can see how things were, without Jesus and the crucifixion and then His resurrection from the dead.

Even God's perfect law did not work.

Even God's own perfect judging of evil people did not work.

Even God's miracles did not get the results which God desired.

This was because, without Jesus God Himself can not do all that He really desires for us.

So, with Jesus God's own dreams come true; without Jesus coming here . . . even God could be having mainly nightmares.

He needs His Son Jesus, in order to have all that is pleasing to Him.

Also, by the way . . . Satan once was in Heaven, itself, but he got thrown out, because he tried to change Heaven. Even with all the good and love and perfect environment which is Heaven, Satan still became a mess of pride. So, changing circumstances and conditions is not enough.

Only with Jesus can we have all that is truly good :)

Every time we sin, we get a sample of how we could become "worse and worse" (2 Timothy 3:13) if Jesus did not die for us and rise for us. When we sin, should be getting homesick to get back into God's love and peace and joy.
