Hey brothers and sisters, I’m 67 and back in the early 70’ as a teen on the west coast, I began as a Unitarian atheist, then got into the Jesus Freaks, backslid and became a pot smoking and growing hippie. Been back to the Lord with my all since my early 20’s. I just found out about delta 8, and would love to be part of a discussion with other believers about its use as believers, hear from others who have used it, and from any that feel they must not. Any bites?

Did you ever see the Roseanne episode where she and Dan find their daughter's stash and smoke it? Funny episode. They get the laughs, paranoias and munchies. But finally, Roseanne is left just wishing the effect would wear off because "I just want to be me again". Well, I like being me, so drugs don't interest me.

D8 is simply thc extracted from hemp according to the legal amount allowed for growing hemp. It's pot and gets you high like pot because it is pot. Pot = thc = D8.

(Folks are now growing hemp here in south-central VA and you can smell it rolling down the road lol)

I don't think smoking pot is a sin. Like most things that give pleasure, they have their place; moderation and context is key. I would rather be around someone high than someone belligerent because their drunk. Furthermore, if it helps you because of some ailment, all the better. That's probably why God made it.

Friends,

Was a regular user in the 70's and got out by the skin of my teeth, some of my friends are dead.

It took 7 years of prayer and ministry to clean up the spiritual effects and return to a sense of normal.

I opened up spiritual windows and unwittingly let the demonic into my life was incinerated against my will and administered ECT.

Folks prayed and I was released early all Glory to a merciful Jesus.

So you want to debate the merits of this stuff - that is insanity - at best.

It was too bad when they weaponized it and made it a depressant like booze rather than the haha it was mean to be. Perhaps it is not in the elite's best interest to have people not caring about the ways of man, but enjoying life outside the system with a good laugh at it all :)

I definitely believe these things can function as portals. Alcohol included. Best to stay away completely imo.

Yes, look at the internet

Not sure what you're saying, but look at Kensington, Philadelphia, or any of the major cities anymore. I know weed isn't behind the nodders, but I'd bet it started there. The demons usually entice in baby steps, because they know you wouldn't take the leap.

That applies to everything. It is how people get hooked on the backwards system of mankind and end up being divisive..

A discussion means you are reading the responses. No evidence of that so far.

I believe the delta 8 "thc" sold in America is synthetically made. We have little knowledge of the repercussions of consuming this product. If it is "smoked" in a vape pen it can burn lung tissue away. I would not recommend people consume these synthetic products. I understand folks are addicted to convenience nowadays. It just isn't worth the unknown risks. God gave us a natural plant with wonderful health benefits. The Chinese people have used cannabis for thousands of years. Americans have been prevented from studying the cannabis plant due to our strict laws and politicians who still believe that Reefer Madness nonsense. It is still on the schedule I drug classification with heroin and cocaine. Yet cannabis in its natural form is likely the safest way to consume. There are many beneficial cannibinol and compounds in the natural plant that provide health benefits other than THC. Those beneficial compounds are not in the synthetic stuff. There are many ways to consume the cannabinoids from the plant other than smoking it also. I have friends with chronic lung issues and coughing incessantly from hitting those vape pens that are all the fad in America today. I would advise against using these synthetic products myself. They are not regulated by our FDA either. It seems like asking for trouble using these products in my opinion.

Exactly... and can be patented as a result. If there isn't profit in it for somebody, it would never make the legal market.

Americans have been prevented from studying the cannabis plant due to our strict laws and politicians who still believe that Reefer Madness nonsense.
More so, the original (industrial) hemp plant was seen as a threat to the fledgling steel and fuel industry for the obvious reasons involving competition. So they dumped non-opioid CBD hemp in with trippy cousin THC cannabis and made it illegal, thus threat removed. Think regular nettles vs stinging nettles, related and similar in appearance but different and now called the same. Interestingly during time of war these same moguls used hemp (temporarily legal for their benefit) to manufacture clothes, uniforms and the bodies on vehicles much in the same way fibreglass was used later.

Perhaps with the claim we need to turn away from fossil fuels as they built bigger ships and planes and seek to drill for oil in the arctic we supposedly won't need in ten years at a time before it is even required, these same moguls will loosen the laws on these plants, and both the trippy and non-trippy can be studied and used for appropriate purposes. Industrial hemp is grown legally in Canada while the US is still addicted to growing corn and drowning in corn syrup. But again don't hold out much hope from the health aspect as there is no profit for pharmaceuticals in what nature provides. Only profit is in their synthetic patented concoctions. But of course I am off track as CBD is not THC, but only a non opioid cousin.

I'd wait for this person to come back to see if he's even interested in a discussion or if he's just hoping to start something.

I'm not even sure we ought to be discussing a product if it's not federally legal. And THC, last I heard, was illegal in the US, regardless of what some states are doing. As Christians we follow the law unless it conflicts with our faith, and making some drugs illegal has no conflict with the faith.

Couple that with the OP creator claiming an age of 67, and the question must be asked why now? Is he/she experiencing pain? If so following their physicians medical advice is best. Self medicating for pain relief isn't usually a good thing - especially when illegal substances are being considered.

Thanks for your thoughts, I'm no bot (-: I just now come on to see if there were any responses - looks good. I am 67, and you ask why now? After turning back to Christ about 45 years ago, I walked away from the drug world, smoking pot, dropping acid, and selling homegrown and otherwise in LA. Since then for all these years, It all left my thoughts since I knew it was all illegal in most states. Just recently I heard of Delta 8 which is not illegal, and is sold all over the US. It contains amounts of thc below what is considered illegal. I just wanted some input. From what I researched online, I get the impression that what can be purchased is not synthetic, but derived from hemp. I'm not speaking at all about the regular weed sold today, that is largely illegal. Only the delta 8. Most likely, you can buy it really cheaply from local stores in your home town. It does have pretty amazing medicinal properties. Since it is legal, and freely being offered - is there any reason we as believers ought to avoid it? We drink coffee for what it does for us, giving alert mind and short term energy.
