  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Lynn, beautiful site! Thanks for sharing it with us.

razzelflabben,
You might want to keep it tucked away...sometimes the ducks aren't lined up yet. In our district, elementary teachers had one old computer to a classroom, and they couldn't transport files back and forth from home. More recently, each was given a laptop for submitting grades.

Most schools have a computer lab, though, where your ebooks would have made a great lab assignment. Teachers would be legally required to purchase one ebook per computer (25?). Most teachers I know already spend their own money for extras.

You might have paved the way for others. (At your expense.)
Thanks, I'll keep it in mind, right now we're working on another project that takes up time and any resources (financial) we have.

The purchase issue is why we offered the program for free, we offered enough free copies of the book and enough books for an entire year for free, the only catch was to tell us if the results were the same as we got. We still couldn't even get one teacher or school to try it out. This hurts me not for ourselves and our business but for the kids that could benefit from it.

My first book was published by PublishAmerica (publishamerica.com) I LOVE them. They are a POD company.. however, there are NO costs to the author. I didn't spend a dime to have my book published. My book can be found on Amazon.com; BAM.com; B&N.com and any many other book sellers. My book is also available in brick and mortar stores.

The only catch is that I have to market my book myself.. which is fine. I haven't had any trouble with them, and will be considering them for my second book.

Something to remember, unless you have the money to spend on an agent, you more than likely won't be published by major publishers with your first or second book. Also, remember that even if you do have an agent, you will have a hard time getting a major publisher to look at your manuscript. It works the same way for the music industry. So, the best way to go about it is to go independent and have some stats to show a major publisher.
