Never eat or drink anything while working on your computer. Why? This morning I was reading your posts and eating taquitos, when I began to choke. Seriously, choking. I croaked "water" to my son, who ran to get me some. I was flailing my hands reaching for the water when I spilled the water over the keyboard!
After saying a quick prayer
asking God to save his work and my hard drive, I dumped my computer over, removed the battery and got out my hair dryer.
An hour later, I tried turning it on. It worked! Thank you, Jesus!
However, it sustain a minor injury - the letter "e", number "4" and the "F6" keys don't work. 
Oh well! A new keyboard is cheaper than a whole new motherboard!
My son told me about the On-Screen Keyboard feature than comes with Windows XP. So I'm filling in the "e", using that! A Temporary work around.
Lesson: Keep food and water away from computer.
