  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

This is the day that the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it.

Lessons learnt on Life.

There was a man who had four sons. He wanted his sons to learn not to
judge things too quickly. So he sent them each on a quest, in turn, to
go and look at a pear tree that was a great distance away.

The first son went in the winter, the second in the spring, the third
in summer, and the youngest son in the autumn.

When they had all gone and come back, he called them together to
describe what they had seen.

The “winter” son said that the tree was ugly, bent, and twisted.

The “spring” son said no, it was covered with green buds and full of
promise.

The “summer” son disagreed; he said it was laden with blossoms that
smelled so sweet and looked so beautiful, it was the most graceful
thing he had ever seen.

The “autumn”t son disagreed with all of them; he said it was ripe and
drooping with fruit, full of life and fulfilment.

The man then explained to his sons that they were all correct, because
they had each seen, but only one season in the tree's life.

He told them that you cannot judge a tree, or a person, by only one
season, and that the essence of who they are, and the pleasure, joy,
and love that come from that life can only be measured at the end,
when all the seasons are up.

If you give up when it's winter, you will miss the promise of your
spring, the beauty of your summer, and your fulfilment of your fall.

Moral of the lessons learnt:

Don't let the pain of one season destroy the joy of all the rest.

Don't judge life by one difficult season. Persevere through the
difficult patches, and better times are sure to come some time later.

During our happy moments, then PRAISE our Lord Jesus Christ!
During our difficult moments, then SEEK our Lord Jesus Christ!
During our quiet moments, then WORSHIP our Lord Jesus Christ!
During our painful moments, then TRUST our Lord Jesus Christ.
And during our every moments, then THANK our Lord Jesus Christ, ALL THE TIME.

Excellent Morals Story. Thank you for posting.

He wanted his sons to learn not to judge things too quickly.
Like the Father in the story, God does not want us to judge our fellow-humans too quickly. He wants us to grow in understanding towards our fellow-humans instead of being quick to wrongly judge them.

He told them that you cannot judge a tree, or a person, by only one season, and that the essence of who they are, and the pleasure, joy, and love that come from that life can only be measured at the end, when all the seasons are up.

Wonderful words of wisdom!

God is the one and only God
That judges and we should leave
It really up to Him!

Thanks for the clear-up as we need to
Seek, worship, trust, and thank the Lord
As we do continue to grow and learn in Him
Because when we become Christians
That is only the beginning of our Christian walk
In and with Him!
