Name: Captain Leigh Drewer Jacobson
Ship: L'intercettatore; a small slight ship, not known for its battle power but has speed and weight, making it an effective sea-going battering ram.
Age: 32
Gender: Male
Height: 5'7"
Weight: 167 lbs; fully “clothed”: 179lbs
Occupation: Simply put: a bounty hunter. More specifically a vigilant.
Appearance: Like a gentleman. Rather unkempt at times, but for the most part an observer wouldn't think him much of a pirate, save for his company he constantly keeps. Tends to go hatless in public with medium length black hair. Appears wealthy from nobility, but not as ostentatious. Green eyes which like to smile inhabit a face which has a questionable ability to do so…
Personality: Extremely reserved (though quite talkative). He knows what he is doing and values his word as well as others (meaning if it's a lie, it is valued as such). Quite manipulative and seems to know something about the human condition. Leigh trusts his men with his life and they him, though it might seem at times the trust in the men is a little misplaced.
History:
Leigh Jacobson was born out of a line of successful pirates. His father, Lewis Jacobson, made a name for his ship, the dreaded Lo Scioperante. Captain Jacobson and his crew were adept at pirating, leaving absolutely no one alive (or, at the best, leave everyone on a doomed ship) be they ransomable or not.
Leigh was born on-board ship into his father's ways. He learned his skills well (fencing, acting and pickpocketing) and was content maintaining the ship. While this pleased his father (the lad could outdo some of his best men) he had a maddening sense of morality and asked quite an annoying amount of questions.
When Leigh became old enough to be a full-fledged mate on the ship, Captain Jacobson offered his son the position of first mate. Leigh, though honored, did not understand what this entailed (he had not yet been any part of a raid). His father explained eloquently the art of deception and taking the enemy by surprise, leaving nothing but a horrifying story to make his name more famous.
After all these years, Leigh's conscience caught up with him. He stood, horrified, looked around and saw, with opened eyes, the truth of the trade. "This is not right! This must stop!" he emphatically told his father. Of course, his father, more confused than angry, could not understand what the boy could be meaning. He repeated the offer and told him to think about it and get back with him in the morning.
Leigh at this point was 18 years old. He escaped his father’s ship and landed on an island called Durthan. Here he hired himself out as a shipmate on a small, nimble merchant ship called Con Tutto.
As the years went by, Leigh lived a much less lavish life than he had with his rich father, but he appreciated the honest life. The sailors of course, could see the lad's talent for seafaring and had no problem with his promotion to first mate and eventually captain of a new ship with a new philosophy…
First mate: Giles Worthing- 57 years old, gone a little to seed but a powerful man: former captain
Second mate: Black Beauty- 41, capable black former slave.
Miscellaneous info- dislikes seafood.
Carries around a lot of “junk” hidden in his mass of clothing
