Yes, absolutely. Most of what Musk is doing in DOGE is unconstitutional, cruel, and barbaric. It has only the color of law.

Only Congress has power over appropriations to the various departments of the Executive branch.

I think both factions are outflanking reality a bit on this one...

Is the DOGE-approach the best or most prudent way to eliminate waste? I don't think so. I think the scalpel is better than the chainsaw.

But do I think Musk's approach is "barbaric terrorism", no... that's hyperbole.

The notion that we have to keep billions of dollars of frivolous programs active because they're joined at the hip with meaningful programs (and one political party refuses to detach the two by design) is unreasonable as well.

If everyone gets to attach whatever nonsensical stuff they want to something "noble" to make it "un-cuttable", then it's not hard to see why spending has exploded.

What exactly is "nonsensical"? That's for Congress to decide, not a billionaire oligarch.

Apparently it's not only approved by the Democratic party, it's being orchestrated by the highest level of the DNC.

Lawler's team, responding to the protest, pointed to comments by Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., where he said that Democrats were sending people to Republican districts to oppose their policies and make them "face the consequences."

It means what I said. @Vambram asked if it should be condoned by the Democrat party, and I saw that apparently it is actually being orchestrated by the highest level of the Democratic party. The only conclusion I have to add to that is, it seems like Democratic party are continuing to shoot themselves in the foot. So if you want to argue with what I mean, it would be great if you argue with what I actually mean, rather than setting up a strawman to knock down.
