Rebekah smiled.
"No, we're not in a hurry. I preferred walking myself. These documents dont say the home bank, it just says that the money can come out of any bank. So which one do you think we should try?" Rebekah asked. She had a feeling she would enjoy the long walk.

"Well, I walked past one on my way to you, but I don't think it's open. Maybe one of the big ones in the center. They have some pretty solid buildings, don't you think?" Nathan said.

"Yeah sure, let's go there" Rebekah said.

James walked into the living room and stand right behind Kadyn.
"Is there anything interesting on the news?" James asked.

 

[Ellesar]

Kadyn glanced up at James and said quietly, "Not really. Just more about Carpathia...and his somehow quick and miraculous rise to power."

Rebekah and Nathan continued to walk towards the bank chatting about nonsense. They had just met and didnt know anything about each other.
"I guess you can see that my grandfather was a wealthy man. I always wondered how we had such a big house when my mom barely worked and my father couldn't afford it. That is why they separated. They never got a divorce, they just led separate lives. It is a rather sad story." Rebekah stopped and almost began to cry and then Nathan started talking

"I'm really sorry," he said, and hoped that she understood that he meant it. "My parents died when I was younger. I never really got over it, I suppose. But sometimes I think that I'm lucky. I've heard of so many lives being ruined as a result of the parents' divorce."

"Wow, I guess you do know what I am going through. My parents never divorced but my dad moved away and called once in awhile. My dad would come over for christmas maybe adn he would stay in the designated room for him. That is the room you are staying in. It's a good thing I have a big house. Oh look the bank!" Rebekah pointed and realized this was not the bank they would be going too. She hadnt been to this side of town but it look like the bank was hit by something of great size and it had not been repaired yet.
"Looks like we won't be going there, any other banks you know of that might not be damaged?"

"Not really..." Nathan bit his lip and scratched his head. "But I think there might be one a bit further down that street."

The two continued down the street and they found a bank.
She handed the clerk there the paper and the lady looked at her as if she stole the documents.
"How much do you want of your account?"
"Can I see a statement of it?"
The lady handed her a paper and she looked at it and nearly fainted.
"Nathan look at that!" SHe said. "We are going to need to change the name ont he account since my mother died."
"She disappeared too?" THe clerk asked.
"No, she killed herself." Rebekah said slowly.
"Well, here are the forms to fill out for that. Will you be making us the home bank?"
"Might as well."
"Are you 17?"
"I will be in 2 weeks."
"Okay, since you obviously have no guardian I will just let you sign it now as if you were 17."
Rebekah filled out the forms and returned them to the lady.
"Here is your card, please pick a pin number and write it down there."
Rebekah did so. Before she knew it she had a bank account with more money than she could ever spend. She danced as they walked towards a grocery store.
"Let's go grocery shopping"

Nathan looked at her and smiled. She seemed happy, at least for a while. "Well, I think we would need a car, or maybe a truck, or maybe seven, to transport all the groceries you could buy for just a couple of percent of that money." He had his hands in his pockets and sighed happily.

Rebekah laughed.
"We aren't buying that many. We just need something to eat for the two of us" She smiled and walked across the street.

"You know," Nathan looked at something ahead, his eyes unfocused. He swallowed, considering how to put words to his thoughts. "Do you know how to drive? I mean, we'll probably need a car, sooner or later."

I took driver's ed.. but i dont hvae my license, just a driving permit" Rebekah said. She wondered why he struggled to say that. "My mom's car is still in the garage, I can find her keys and we can drive around town." They entered the store and it was dead empty.
"This is odd, i would have thought more people would be here." She grabbed a cart and headed for the isles of food.
