has anyone read Left Behind: book one. I'm reading it right now and I think it's good book. It's sad at first then it goes to lonely then sad. Basicaly it's a sad and lonely setting. Thought it's really good. I got introduced to the book from the christian magazine: On Course. I read an article on it and it inspired me to read the left behind book. I encourage you all to read it if you haven't. And as we all know it's not good to go and skip a chapter. Read it and you'll love it. I will  for all of you!

Yes, the entire series is a wonderful read. There are a few problems along the way in regards to understanding of what the Bible actually has to say.

Id suggest you borrow the books from your local library instead of purchasing them.

I will be happy to discuss them with you. I see that you are 14, have you read the kids version or is that the one you are reading?

Hey everyone,

Yeah ive read the first one, in fact the whole series so far. I think they are great! Cant wait for the "Glorious Appearing", the 12th book, next year. Armageddon, I reckon, is the best one in the series, although all the books are just as good. :)
I dont agree that its deteriorated from book 6. If it had, I would of lost interest by now :p :p

I've always been worried about what (to me) is the bad theology inherent in the plot. All the Bible verses cited to back up what happens in them (1 Thess. 4:16-17, Rev 11:3, Dan. 9:27, Rev. 3:10) seem to be taken out of context and contradict (when taken out of context) other verses. As such, I really don't like the series.

I started when I was pregnant but have had no time to finish it since I now have a two year old. I'm just going to have to pick it up again now that you have all given it such good reviews. It was good so far, just haven't actually finished a whole book in years. Though for 2 years I did nothing but read and I must have read about a hundred books then.

I would also recommend after you finish that you watch the movies...only 2 are out so far, but Kirk Cameron (a very inspirational man if you ask me) is in it with his wife and the characters really come to life after you see the movie and then read the books.

You gave it that long? I thought it went down from book 5 (about the time they started putting out the books every 6 months).

I agree that the theology is bad at times, but the core message is good: Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the only salvation from the evil of this world (and the next) comes from giving one's life to Him. That core is the only reason I've kept reading, and I'm even anxious to see how it all ends in Glorious Appearing (though I'm pretty sure I know how it's going to end :) )

I would rent the movies, they devate so far from the book , both is story , and character development, I dont know what happened. :(

I just started a new one though by Tim Lahaye & Greg Dinallo called "Babylon Rising"

I didnt like the movies and felt they were very poorly done. They also where not what the authors expected who held up the second production via court proceedings to get the producers to stop filming. I really do not blame the authors on that. The movies are very much B rated and acted.

I am very much disenchanted w/the Tyndal empire, but oh so glad I can trust in the Lord to have Revelation come to life in perfect timing - dont need Lahaye for that one!

Ive read all the books to date. Waiting on Glorious Appearing. Will be waiting for a while yet I think.
I dont know that the movies were so much badly done. As they more just couldnt compare to the books in the way that most of the fans of the series would have wanted. The actors I think were good for the characters of the books. But in any movie its just not possible to go into the detail thats inherent in the books. Especially in these books. Granted I have only seen the first of the movies, so I cant really say whether the others are any good. But if I had to choose between the movies and the books, well its not a hard choice. Books!
