Left Behind: A Tribulation Story

(OK, time to catch up)

Mike had had barely enough time to jump into the car before they had taken off to the hospital. After they got there, and after seeing there was nothing more he could do, Mike started up his laptop and began to work on something meaninless to try and stop worrying.
Noticing the other girl was crying, he walked over to her and said, "Hey, is everything okay?"
Then, realizing that they didn't know eachother, he added, "My name's Mike, by the way."

Diedre wiped her eyes quickly and looked up at the boy. "Diedre," she said with a weak smile, "and yes, I'm okay. I could be better, but..." she sighed. "The vanishings... my family's gone."

"I can't say I know how you feel," Mike said, " 'cause the only person I know who dissappeared was a cousin I didn't really like in the first place."
"But hey," Mike continued, sitting down next to Diedre and trying to comfort her, "I'm sure your family is okay."

 

[ChristIsCalling]

Dee shook her head, "No, it's not that I'm worried about them. I know they're okay." she stopped for a minute, "It's just that I miss them."

Mike didn't really know how to respond to this. As he had said, the disappearances had effected him minimally.
Trying to change the subject, he said, "So, about those disappearances. Do you have any thoughts as to what happened?"

 

[ChristIsCalling]

Dee's piercing emerald eyes looked up at the boy. She nodded her head. "I know exactly what happened." she smiled.

Mike raised his eyebrows in surprise. She was indeed confident in the fact that she knew exactly what had happened.
"Well then," Mike said, interested, "What happened?"

"You're probably gonna think I'm crazy, but oh well." she replied

"My family, your cousin, and all the others that disappeared, are in Heaven." she said, "It's predicted in the Bible. It's called the rapture. God came back for His children and took them to Heaven so they didn't have to go through what's about to come."

(( I'll try to help, but I might leave some things out. Ok, so your character told Chris that he stabbed Mackenzie, and she started freaking out when she saw you. Then she stormed outside and spit her stitches open. And now Mike, Chris, and I are in the hospital with her. ))

"Oh," Mike said, trying his best not to say anything offensive. He had expected something based loosely in science, not all this religious stuff.
Then again, as Mike thought about it, his cousin who had dissappeared was the only family member he knew who had ever been religious.
'Simple coincidence,' he thought to himself, and yet stored the fact away in the back of his mind.
Pretending to be interested, he asked, "You said that God took his 'Children' to Heaven to spare them from what's coming. What does your bible say is coming?"

 

[ChristIsCalling]

"Well," Diedre said, "someone is going to rise to power, and everyone's gonna think that they're best thing to ever happen to the world," she paused, that one and only sermon that she'd ever listened to fresh in her mind. "Things are just going to get worse, though. There's supposed to be a lot of natural disasters going to happen for a few years. But I can't really tell you everything that's gonna happen, because I'm not really sure of everything else. I'm kinda new to this religion stuff."

"Me, I never got into this religious stuff in the first place," Mike commented.
"I mean, no offense, but what proof is there of an almighty being up in heaven watching us?"

 

[ChristIsCalling]

"Look around you." Dee replied, "In the midst of all the chaos, look at the sky, the sun. There has to be something behind it all. Something had to create the beauty of nature."

Dee paused, and then continued. "And tell me, how can you explain how our bodies, our organs, our brain. How can they know all they need to know to keep us alive? If you ask me, there has to be something smarter behind it all."

Time of Rapture: Faith woke up in the hospital to find no one was there. She was in a car crash and was knocked out, her family mysteriously disappearing into thin air. They had told her a lot of Jesus Christ and the rapture, and she just didn't know what to think about it. Now, as she walked around the hospital, seeing clothes and jewelry just dropped to the ground it seemed believable. "Hello?" She said. She only heard her voice. She saw a few people who looked at her suspiciously, carrying out radios and stolen jewelry from the hospital.

She opened her mouth widely and walked outside to see the roads trashed and a quite a few wild individuals running frantically down the street. She ran for what seemed like hours when she saw a couple people talking together. Knowing what she had heard from her parents about the rapture, she wasn't sure whether to trust them, but she heard the girl's last sentence...

"And tell me, how can you explain how our bodies, our organs, our brain. How can they know all they need to know to keep us alive? If you ask me, there has to be something smarter behind it all."


"HEY!!!" She exclaimed. "Do you'll know what happened..." She was trying to convince herself this wasn't happening and that she had all the time in the world... Just one chance...

Diedre smiled, looked at the girl, and nodded. "Yeah. I believe I know what happened."

She thanked God silently for bringing opportunities to share her knowledge of what happened.

Faith's eyes misted over as she told her about the rapture. Her father had been a preacher, her mother a Sunday school teacher. Every single day they praised God and tried to raise Faith right, taking her to church, telling her what she needed to believe Jesus Christ died on the cross for her sins... Faith just thought it as a history lesson... church as a sororiety group to hang out with her friends. She never thought it to be true. Now she did...

"What now!" She exclaimed looking around her, as if these people weren't by her. "We had all this time and now we don't, and now we have to pay and suffer, starve and everything because we didn't trust God to begin with!" Faith put her head in her hands angrily. Whether she was mad at herself or mad at God, she wasn't really sure.

"Well," Diedre replied, "first of all, I wouldn't advise you to wait any longer to accept Jesus into your heart, because we don't know what's going to come next, or when it's going to come."

"It's not that simple anymore..." Faith whispered. "If we recieve the mark of the beast, we are damned. Faith is more then a prayer. It is trusting in Jesus no matter what... if we have to starve, we have to starve...but if we follow the antichrist, then we will burn eternally. It is accepting the less of the two evils..."

"If you accept Jesus and have faith, He can guide you through what's about to come." Diedre explained, "He can tell you what to do. But you have to trust him."
