Matt got up inthe morning feeling a little bit better. He walked down to the kitchen and saw that Victoria was already awake and that she had made a pot of coffee. She seemed to be anxious to tell him something so he made himself a cup of coffee and then he sat down at the able. "So, what's up?" he asked her.

"i thought about what you said you believed...and as of now I believe it to..but I still have so many questions...and no where to find answers..."
"as horrific as it is im just glad Im alive...but my dad..he was religious..I mean..a believer...so he's gone...and I have'nt heard off of my mother since I was 11....
Im just not sure what i need to do .... and how i need to do it...."

Jordan Kirk was not sure what to do. He had just discovered his parents' stuff lying on the floor and he was starting to freak out. Added to his hysteria was the fact that he had a hangover. He felt lost and finally decided on trying to get a hold of his cousin Joe. He called Joe up and Joe answered. Joe told Jordan that he should come over and they could talk.

Jordan arrived at Joe's house about an hour later. After Joe greeted him at the door, Jordan broke down and told Joe about his discovering his parents' stuff on the floor.
Joe tried explaining what he believed happened to them but Jordan blew him off. Jordan had never liked religion and constantly argued with Joe about this. Jordan was so mad that he shouted at Joe telling him that he was only trying to push his religion on him while he was vulnerable. He did not know where he was going to go but he knew he had to get away and that he could not go back to his own house.

Sarah slammed the phone shut,she was tired of the same arguement with Jerry her boyfriend.as much as she didn't want to admit it was her fault she manage to convince herself he left her no choice.Jerry and Sarah started seeing each other here junior year in high school,as usual thing went great in the beginning but when they decided to move-in together there freshman year in college thats when the spark of love faded,sarah discovered more of jerry's nature,gambling,drinking,fighting.

jerry promised her he would leave that outside but drinking and gambling became more thus the fighting coming home.sarah could handle arguing with her sharp tongue but she wouldn't stand for physical abuse so luck for her jerry never went that far however he did stoop to a new lever when gambling got the best of him causing him to steal her stuff and his but this wasn't sarahs last straw,her last straw was on raining night coming from her job at the bookstore to find a womens red plastic nail in there bedroom.they argued until there neighbor called,for the pass 2 weeks they didn't speak to each other.

sarah taking this to her advantage meet Carl and dated him for the silent 2 weeks,jerry found them together at her job.since then sarah left taking all her stuff and moved back to her hometown in texas,jerry some how got her phone number no doubt her friend becky gave it to him harasses sarah 3 times a day 4 times a week would argue with her that she made a mistake and they couldhave had a family together,sarah laughed bitterly telling him hes bad habits would be the death of him so before jerry could reply she hung up and went on with the rest of the day.

Tony's Bargain Bookstore was where sarah found a job,it wasn't exactly her dream job but it kept a roof over her head and she loved reading,her co-workers jessica loved to gossip sometimes sarah wondered why she even talked to her but she blow it off,Holly sarahs other co-worker how was christian was more down to earth and loved reading as well,sarah liked holly but when holly would go over board with the word of God sarah found herself listening to jessica.

"Sarah your late",jessica teased
sarah shot her a look but jessica just laughed.
"uh-oh someone didn't get any sleep last night",laughed jessica while sarah put her stuff away.
"yeah your jess I did have a rough night but also a rough morning" sarah sighing,
"join the club my sister kept calling me about my niece,I love her in all but do I look like a mother?",jessica said.
That made sarah laugh and jessica shoot the look.
"sorry jess but your right,come on lets help holly" she said walking out of the staff backroom.
"morning sarah,morning jessica we just got alot of shocking to do",Holly said
Jessica rolled her eyes and sarah elbowed her as started perparing the shop to open,an hour later open few people walked in for the morning,some usual customers,sarah was working the register finishing with a customer when holly aproached her with a cup of coffee.
"Hey there thought you could use some", Holly smiled.
"oh thanks your right"sarah said taking a sip.
"are you ok?"
"yeah why? do I look that horrible?"
"N-no its just a feel I get"
"well I'm going to lie and say everythings peachy but what else can I do? so I have to make due"
"yeah your right thats how life mostly is..", Holly said look away,sarah saw this.
"what is it holly?"
"I just wanted to read you something but your tired thats ok forget"
"wait its ok I'm in mood where I don't care so bring it on"
"really! ok be back" she said and rucshed off.
When she returned she had her bible case with an angel and a violen on it with her.
"ok I saw this when I was praying this morning and just knew it reminded me of you"
"really well read because we have people coming in"
"ok here it is,I dont have time to read the whole story so I'll just read this that I love,
Jesus responded."didn't I tell you that you will see God's glory if you believe?" so they rolled the stone away.Then jesus looked up to heavan and said "Father thank you for hearing me,but I said it loud for the sake of all these people standing here,so they will believe you sent me." The jesus shouted "Lazarus Come out!" ",holly closed and zipped the case back up but before sarah could reply jessica called for holly and there were customers coming to pay.
"that was intersiting holly but I'll talk to you about ok got a job to do" sarah said.
Holly looked sadden but nodded and walked away.

*sorry holly but what am'I suppose to do? drop everything? but that story...it seems like something I can relate to...what am I thinking,how can I relate to it?,I'll talk to holly on break*

But sarah never got the chance,around 3:17pm sarah sat at the register reading when she heard a scream,the sound cut through her that she jump over the register running down throught aisle 1.
"Holly!"
"Jessica!"
She ran to the bathroom but something caught her eye making her stop.It was jessica,sarah never saw anyone so pale,she was holdong something in her arms,sarah ran to her.
"jessica whats wrong?!"
Jessica just mumbled,sarah toke a closer look to see they were clothes but to her horror they were Holly's!
"Jessica! what are you doing with hollys clothes?,where is she!" sarah said shaking her.
Jessica slowly pointed,sarah followed her finger to see more clothes in the other aisle,just there laying with jewelery,glasses and everything.sarah heard a crash and more screaming along with the store bell ringing like crazy,she turned back to jessica who was sobbing,she had dropped hollys clothes,sarah still in shock bent down and picked them up.
* whats going on? is this real? is jessica playing a sick joke?*
Then what sarah saw broke her heart,hollys favorite cross necklace was still around the neck of her turtle-neck sweater,braking sarah out of her trance was jessica screaming and running out,sarah went after her,sarah saw bookselves knocked over,people yelling and crying but what she saw next will never forget.jessica ran off down but before sarah could go after her a truck hit her.
"JESSICA!!!!!!!!!!!!",sarah screamed at the top of her lung and ran to her wth holly sweater still in hand.she dropped herself next to jessicas bloody body,jessica looked up at her with wide eyes,blood covered her mouth as she gripped sarahs hand tightly,sarah knew she couldn't do a thing,people were running everywhere screaming,cars were turned over,some buildings were aflame and in the middle it was sarah crying while her co-worker slowly died.when sarah saw the life leave her she did her best to move her friend to the side walk.
Sarah cried all the way to her apartment,she hated leaving jessicas body behind like that but she didn't know what to,she went back to the bookstore to find it inflames.she raced fast up the stairs frantically opening her door and shutting it,locking every lock,her bleedstained hands print over the the white wall,she ran to kitchen frightening her cat who hissed and ran away,she frantically washed her hands nearly cutting her skin off.
*THE BLOOD! I HAVE TO GET IT OFF NOW! THE BLOOD!*
She left water on pacing around crying knocking things over,then she picked up holly's sweater and throw to the wall and finally slide down to the floor against the wall pulling her hair,outside where bangs,sirens,screaming and a few gun shots.
*what do I do? whats going? why are people missing?! who did this?! how?!*
with all these questions and memories she screamed.
Sarah looked around at the dim lighted apartment,pictures,broken glass,flowers and fallen furniture but through all that sarah noticed one and only thing.in the corner something beaconed her,it shined for her to some near.dazed she crawled over to it cuting her knees and hands but she was numb form all things.the light that called her was Holly's sliver cross necklace,sarah gazed at it remembering Holly innocence,she lightly picked it up squeezing it in her palm,tears streaming she closed her eyes.
"G-God? I've never talked to you before but please,I have to know whats going on,please tell me show me like the story holly told me today and God where ever Holly is watch over her please..." her voice low and dry
"God thank you for hearing me" she finally said and with that she put the jewelery on,keepinp it inside her hand as she willed herself to stand a face the choas ahead.

**Chris Rossman**

Chris banged on the front door of the address Mackenzie had given him the night before.

He knew he looked like a crazy person. He had bags under his eyes from being awake so long. The drive had been stressful and he was worrying about Mackenzie's health. His eyes were puffy from crying over his parents death. Chris had never been a crier, but he was just so overwhelmed....

He banged on the door again.

Finally, a boy about Mackenzie's age opened the door.

"Where's Mackenzie?"-Chris asked.

"Are you her brother?"-He asked.

"Yeah...She's alright, isn't she?"-Chris asked.

The boy nodded. "She's in here."-He said, leading me to a bedroom.

Mackenzie was asleep in the bed of what Chris assumed was the master bedroom. Chris rushed to the bed, kneeling beside Mackenzie.

He gently brushed hair away from her face.

**Mackenzie Rossman**

Mackenzie's eyes fluttered open.

"Chris!"-She exclaimed weakly.

She tried to sit up to embrace him, but cried out in pain.

"Let me see..."-Chris said, peeling the bedspread off of her.

She slowly lifted her T-shirt, showing him the stitching Matt had done. Chris' face twisted in agony.

Chris looked up at Matt, who was shutting the door.

Chris got up. "Um, thanks for saving her...I'm Chris, by the way."-He said, shaking Matt's hand.

"Matt...I was glad to do what I could, but she could still get infected..."-Matt

Chris nodded and sat back on the edge of the bed by Mackenzie.

"What happened?"-he asked, pulling her shirt down and the covers back up.

Mackenzie explained to Chris about their parents, and staggering up to this house.

A little while later, after Chris had showered and Mackenzie had done the best she could, they walked out together into the living room where Chris and another girl were.

Moving Forward

Sarah straighten up her apartment,toke a shower and bandage herself up.apart of her didn't want to admit that the praying made her feel better but she pushed that feeling aside and put on fresh clothes.she glanced out the windows to see red and blue flashes,smoke arising and screams but as she looked up she saw that the sky was clear as ever.
*so this is it huh? I never thought I would live to see this...its amazing what God can do,have I really missed so much?*
She moved from the window opening her closet when her cat cairo jumped on the bed meowing,"don't worry cairo I won't leave you here but we have to go and find out whats going on and see if mom and dad are ok" she said carriering a backpack and stuffing it will clothes.when she was done she went into the living room grabing her laptop and cell,she thought she broke the laptop since it was underneath her chair but she checked it and nothing seemed missing.when she finished she toke one last look at the home she made for herself when she finally left jerry but now it seemed finding answers was more important then staying,tears streamed down her face as she smiled and closed the door shut for good but the smild quickly faded when she got down stair backpack over shoulder,cat under her other arm.she couldn't take her car because it was back at the bookstore,the bookstore a painful reminder came back of jessica and holly but she had to go on.so she walked but walking wasnt easy because cairo kept squirming and people were running everywhere,sarah know she had to keep walking,she sawing people breaking into stores and cars.
*I have to kept going,can't show I'm scared even though I'am,I have to find away out of the state* she thought walking fast,cairo finally calmed down when sarah bumped hard into someone she lost her balance and feel on her bottom dropping cairo who ran off into a tree.
"Cairo! come back!" sarah yelled reaching for her
"S-sorry" said a voice.
"yeah well watch where you going pal!" sarah snapped standing up to see a guy standing before her,he looked scared which didn't surprise her but he also looked miserable.
"gee your welcome!" he snapped back bending down and handing her her backpack roughly.
*man whats wrong with me!,the world is in chaos and I have to be a jerk! I need to relax and handle this better*
She sighed and toke the bag back.
"sorry and thanks,I mean I'm totally confused and..."
"yeah same here,looks like the world has more problems then it can take" he said cutting her off in a shakey voice.
"so where are you heading during this problem?" she said and was surprised by his look which went from nervous and angey to sad and scared.
"I-I have no clue" he said looking down
"yeah me too" she said softly
The both stood silent when sarah felt something against her leg,it was cairo rubbing on her pants looking at her,she picked her up and held her in her arms then looked back at the guy who petted the cat.
"whats you name?" she asked
"Jordan,and yours?" he said
"sarah"
They were quited again when sarah popped the question that was nagging her mind.
"so um did you lose anyone?" she said
He seem to freeze but looked away,clinching his fist and gritting his teeth.
"look I'm sorry I was just wondering but it was none of my business I better go" she said walking past him quickly.
"wait,its ok....I'm just lost" he said facing her.
She turned back to face him.
"aren't we all" she said will a small smile but sadness in her eyes.

I hadn't decided where Jordan was at the time and by meeting him like that you just determined where Jordan and Joe are right now. Please ask first next time.)

Matt was talking with Victoria when he saw Chris and Mackenzie walk into the room. He stood up and introduced his cousin to Chris and Mackenzie since Mackenzie had already been in the master bedroom before Victoria got there. He quickly explained what Mackenzie was doing there before Victoria started to form wrong ideas in her mind. Matt suggested the idea of trying to find a church, that still had someone left, to go to on sunday. "If you guys don't want to go I understand, but I am going no matter what. All of you guys should feel free to stay as long as you need or like. it is a big house and I have no need of all of it." Matt told everyone.

Chris ran his hand through his hair, then looked at Mackenzie, the look on his face asking her what she thought.

"No. I'm not going."-She said, surprising Chris.

He looked from her to Matt. Matt shrugged.

Chris and Mackenzie had been to church a few times when they were growing up. Why was she so closed to it?

**Mackenzie Rossman**

"Matt, I really appreciate your offer, but Chris and I need to go home."-She said, looking up at Chris.

"Why? There's nothing there for us..."-Chris said.

"Chris, that's home! We have to go!"-She said, getting irritated.

"Alright Kenz...I didn't think you'd want to go....It's just going to remind us that mom and dad are dead."-Chris said.

"I'm going home...."-She said.

"Let's at least wait a few days. The traffic is so bad right now."-Chris

Mackenzie sat down.

"There's plenty of food in the kitchen if you're hungry."-Matt said.

Chris looked at Mackenzie. She shook her head.

Mark was a football player at New Hope City School. He lifted weights every afternoon. He was in the popular clique. He always made fun of the "nerds" in school. None of the unpopular kids liked him except for the crushes the girls had on him. His mom was a very good Christian, but him and his dad did not believe. His mom kept trying to witness to them, but they would never listen to her. He couldn't wait to graduate from New Hope and leave home for college. He was going to attend New Hope Community College when he graduate. He was a good singer. His best songs were country. He was going to major in music at NHCC. He had dreams of being a big country singer. He could be a real jerk sometimes. Mark was so glad they were off for Christmas break. It was 4 days before Christmas when it all happened.

Mark was on his way home from a friend's house. He was driving down Main Street on the way back home when all of a sudden he heard a crashing sound. He looked behind him and saw a major 20 car pile-up. He thought it was just a typical horrible accident. He pulled over and got out of his car. He headed over to the accident and he couldn't believe what he saw. There was still a couple of people in some cars but about 14 of them were empty. He looked in one of them and saw nothing but clothes. He was worried now. He and more citizens helped the survivors of the crash out of their cars. The ambulance finally got to them and headed to the hospital. He got in his car and laid his head on the steering wheel. He knew exactly what had happened. His mom had tried to tell him and his dad for so long. Now it had come true. He got his cell phone and dialed his home phone. No answer. He kept dialing until his dad finally picked it up. His dad was crying. "Have you seen what is going on, dad?" --Mark* "That is why I am crying, son. Your mom, she's gone! The only thing left of her body is her clothes, cross necklace, and Bible(which she was reading at the time). --Dad* "I'm on my way home, dad!" --Mark* Mark started the car and headed home. It took him a while because of all the traffic and wrecks but he finally got there about 2 hours later. He got out of the car and ran inside the house. He seen his mom's stuff in the floor. He was devastated. "Why did this have to happen right before Christmas?" --Mark* That night, Mark cryed hisself to sleep in his bed.

Chris looked at Victoria, then walked over to Mackenzie and kissed her on the cheek.

"I'm gonna take a walk...I need some fresh air and you need rest. You really shouldn't move around too much with those stitches."-He said.

She nodded.

"Will you keep an eye on her?"-Chris asked Matt. He nodded.

Chris looked at Victoria again. "You wanna take a walk?"-He asked.

She nodded and followed him out.

Under any other circumstances, Chris would have been looking for an opportunity to hit on this girl...She was pretty...

They walked a few blocks.

"I love Kenzie to death, but I've never seen her this way...She got stabbed by some thuggs...Only after they killed my parents...I don't know what to do...I should have been there!"-Chris said, sitting on the curb, putting his head in his hands. How could he have let her get hurt like this?

"Listen, theres nothing you could have done to help her....or stop them from coming and attacking them and her."
"I can say I know from personal expeiriance. I do know that she will make it through this one way or another. And you'll eventually forgive yourself.a few years ago my boyfriend got mad at me got in a car and died in that car crash..I got over it...it just took time...learn to forgive yourself."

Sarah and jordan walked in silence,sarah told jordan what happened to her and how she asked God forgiveness,she saw him roll up his eyes but she ignored it since she couldn't him having her cat cairo in her arms and her heavy back pack over her shoulder,jordan told her about his cousin Joe who know what was happening which he refused to say and sarah was dying to know.
"Can I meet your cousin?" she asked
"why? so you can talk about God?" he said sarcasticly
"yeah that a problem? because I'm dying to know why my friend disappeared!" she said raising her voice.after a few minutes jordan didnt answer but then sighed.
"sure why not" he said dully
"thank I really apperciate this" she hoping to sound sincere which she was....

John didn’t believe in God at all. He thought God was a made up person to make people feel better about themselves. He lived in his own house, of course. Had a nice car and everything. He was a rich man. But you know how some rich people are. Snobby, selfish, etc. He was a very good doctor. He worked mostly all day and then went home and went to sleep, maybe watching tv every now and then. Then he was back at work in the morning, early. Then the rapture came.

John was off of work that day because another doctor came in. John was out driving in his new car to go see his mom in the nursing home. He’s driving through the bad side of town. All of a sudden, there are cars crashing everywhere. He gets out of his car to help someone when his car get rammed into.. Now it’s totaled. So he goes up to a car that has hit another car. He yanks the girl out of the car by her arm. Then two other men come over and get the girl’s parents out of the car. John watched the thug slit the girl’s mom’s throat. He couldn’t let the girl rat him out and ruin his reputation. He was going to need it during this time. He and the other two guys jumped in the car and left.

He dropped the other 2 guys off where they needed to go... Now he had the car to himself. He went to the nursing home to see if his mother was okay. There he met Mark.

Mark left the next morning and went to the nursing home to see if his grandmother was still there. Then he saw a doctor standing in the waiting room. "Excuse me doctor, can you see if my grandmother is still here?" asked Mark. "Sir, I don't work here." said John. "I'm sorry." replied Mark. "What are you doing here, doctor?" asked Mark. "I'm checking on my mother." said John.
They are talking when a nurse walked in.

They had the nurse check on Mark's grandma and John's mom.

They sat in the waiting room a little longer discussing their lives and telling each other more about themselves.

Mackenzie shrugged. "Alright, I guess...It only hurts when I breath."-She said, cracking a small smile.

Matt smiled, with a small laugh.

Mackenzie frowned, suddenly feeling guilty for even smiling...How could she joke at a time like this...With her parents dead...
