  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I decided to leave paganism today. I had enjoyed alot of aspects of paganism but I understand as a Christian it is not right to be a pagan too. I hope that God will heal me of my emotional pains because there will be alot of things about paganism that I miss.

Good for you. I don't know what kind of Paganism you practiced but it can still be okay to celebrate the changing of the seasons and to celebrate revere and I believe even venerate nature or "Mother Earth" so to speak, not a literal Earth Mother maybe but Earth being the source of our bodily life (from dust you came to dust you shall return). We all do come from the Earth, but we were just created by an all powerful deity who is everywhere at all times instead of one of many gods.

Permit me to share with you an old, old remedy for bad stuff that keeps popping up. Each time it does, poke the thumbnail on your dominant hand into the middle finger. Push. Uncomfortable, right? Say "Lord, thank you that paganism has no place in my life," before you withdraw your thumb.

Make that a habit ... but only for those intrusions by pagan, evil thoughts. You'll eventually associate them with unwanted pain, and they'll go away. If any of it pops up again, point thumbnail at middle finger! Push!

I was so distraught the other day when I seen one of your blogs
blue rose that had pagan in it.......
I felt so empty for you, I could not even bear to see it.
I missed you blue rose..................you are loved.
chunk all pagan things behind.....................
just praise the LORD, and know you are loved.

Good decision. It might help to air what you think you will miss though. Just to get it off your chest. Maybe someone can help put your past into context. God bless you in the name of the Lord.
I miss having a goddess and I miss being able to use nature to heal myself.

Permit me to ask, but how so?

I'd just like to inquire so as to understand what you went through.
Yes certainly. I used crystals on my body to help heal me. I have a rose quartz that I love alot. I would use herbs as offerings to the goddess.

What lead up to your conversion? Did you meet a Christian or go to Church or something?

This site made me decide to become a Christian again. I was one when I was younger.

Yes I attend a church with my family. It is one I used to go to.
You know, sometimes I get distracted and double minded and I fell like being a member of another religion. Yet God keeps calling me back to him.

Of all the avatars you've used before, BlueRose, I love the one you're currently using the most. In fact I just adore it. This is the reason for leaving paganism: Taking the hand of the Lord Jesus Christ instead, who will lead you into something far, far better.

Much love,
Hidden

Oh Dear Heavenly Father, here is our sister, she has made a real sacrifice for your glory, Lord God, so that she can come another step closer to giving you all the honour that you deserve. But it's sad, Lord God, that she has to lose something that she loves about life .. a thing that really shouldn't be a loss at all :( .. so we pray for your hand of peace to come upon her, Father, and for your love to flow into her life. Lord God, it sounds as though our sister here has never actually met Your Holy Spirit for friendship, Lord God, but we who know you as a personal friend, we love you Lord God as you appear in feminine character where the vessel facilitates <3 We love you, Lord!

Dear Lord God, we thank you for our sister, and we thank you that you've brought her to this point in her life where she has chosen to step out in faith and to give up her life to follow you. Now we ask, Lord God, that you will reward her so richly, so that whatever pagan goddess image that she used to worship just becomes a cute memory of a life left behind, just as a grown-up has memories of the teddy bear we had as a child. Heavenly Father, we commit this prayer to you in Jesus' name, so that our sister can take forth such a powerful testimony of what it means to personally know The Living God, to anyone else who maybe is disillusioned with Christianity and challenged by the idea of giving up these things that they have come to love about life. We thank you Lord God, for your love and goodness. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Hi Bluerose31, well I do like that you've made this decision to give the rightful honour to The Lord, and as you've noticed, actually that our experience with The Holy Spirit in life is somewhat coloured by the character of the human vessel through whom He presents. So, in a female person whom He is appearing, He does have a distinctly feminine character <3 I really hope that you will very soon come to recognise The Lord God so that you will not consider this decision of yours to be a loss of any form, but a gain through-and-through.

(And forgive me that I don't fully understand), do you think it is possible that you could still enjoy your incense, but devote it instead to The Living God?
