I turned it off after the cartoon character quoted Mark as saying the Sabbath was made for mankind. The Bible doesn't say that. Blatant lies don't help your cause.

Sounds like you're gnashing teeth.

Acts 7:53-54 You received the law under the direction of angels and yet have not kept it.” When they heard these things, they were enraged in their hearts and gnashed their teeth at him.

The Sabbath was made for man. This word, man, refers to mankind, which includes both men and woman. Sorry you're upset with the truth.

You should see a dentist about your teeth.

Mark 2:27 - And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:

Where's the blatant lie?

The video says the verse says "mankind".

Interesting how you characterize it as a 'lie' because you don't accept that it is what the word 'man' means in the verse.

You are truly wrestling against the Spirit brother, I would hope you take more of a stance of submission to what the Spirit is trying to teach you...

Man/mankind...what's the difference?

By the definition of the Geek word the term used is "man", which may mean man specific, as in a certain race or group of people (like Jews). The term "mankind" is used to mean all of humanity.

There were no 'groups/races' at the time of creation. Seriously, this isn't an applicable argument since the Sabbath preceded various groups of people. It is HIS day, HE rested on it and He was gracious enough to give us that day to rest as well! God doesn't get tired or need rest, but we do! He gave us a pattern. Why do people buck against it so much and fight it?

Why would you feel you have to change the word in the verse? That is a direct distortion. I know you would like the Bible to say mankind, but it doesn't.

There were races and groups of men when the Sabbath command was given. See Exodus 31 to see who it was for.

Who doesn't say 'trinity' when the word isnt actually in there? What about 'rapture'? These words arent in Scriptures, yet they are used frequently by many groups (not debating the meaning of either of those words and the theology behind them now, just making a point).

To see who it was for? Do you not remember that a mixed multitude came up out of Egypt? And that the Sabbath command is for ALL in the household even servants and cattle? God always provided for the stranger/those of other nations to obey Him if they so wanted. Strangely enough, even those in His fold today choose not to obey Him because they think they are better than His commands.

For those who are slow to learn I changed the video even though the word represents mankind.

You say it means mankind, but the context doesn't agree with you. Jesus was speaking with Jews. The Jewish leaders would have made a huge commotion if Jesus was saying the Sabbath was for all mankind, including Gentiles. They certainly would have taken exception to this.

Why aren't you all in church or something? :) I am just wasting time here until my fishing buddy gets here so we can go catch some walleyes.

Yes, people who were living in the nation of Israel had to keep their laws. Is that a suprise? Could you imagine if God let the Israelites have servants and such do all the work for them on the Sabbath? That would kinda take away the specialness, wouldn't it?

Are we now God's people or not? Did God change His identity and rules to conform to our ways? Or are we supposed to change our identity and pattern our lives after His ways and rules? God has a standard and He expects His people to follow. Actually, the standard is even higher thanks to Messiah Y'shua because by now we should have graduated from the elementary things. But apparantly the Sabbath is still elementary to so many because like little children, they kick and whine at God's house rules.

The only man alive when the seventh day was made was Adam and the only mankind around was Adam and Eve.
