  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I have taught children's Sunday School for years. Recently, the Lord has laid on my heart the need for a Women's Sunday School class. I just completed training offered by Precept Ministries, by Kay Arthur. I love Precepts because it is in depth Bible study. I am curious to know if anyone has taught a Precepts class, and if anyone has used Precepts, or Kay Arthur stuff. If not, does anyone have suggestions on how to begin a class like this?

Thanks,
Trish-Madison

I attended a precepts course while in San Antonio. Very nice class.

Talk to your pastor and get it promoted through your church. A course like this should be supported by the church, so they can promote it and get more people to your class. If you start it, they will come. (;)) Don't be discouraged if turn-out is light to start off with. It will grow because these types of indepth studies are hard to find. Once word gets out, they will pick up.

For kids, I only recommend the gospel of Jesus, the Old Testament is for serious faith. You could start out on the concept of respect and holiness, and work from there. I am experiencing some intense discretion and I try my hardest to be careful and use an example of love when showing strict laws.
