What a confusing bit of nonsense. It seems they are taking their story about satan and his supposed desire to force people to accept Christ by their construct.

According to this construct, who would not want to be in some place other than the terrestrial kingdom? After all it is a place where we supposedly suffer the wrath of God and be cast into Hell.

Such active imaginations of Joseph Smith and later false prophets, filled with contradictions-- as to where we are to go by the Mormon construct.

I'm not knowledgeable about LDS doctrines and scriptures. But it seems to me that BoM is more or less a nice Christian story while D&C and other teachings establish the new religion, thus the contractions between them. No?

The Book of Mormon was the first book that Joseph Smith wrote (or plagiarized). Mark Twain claimed it was chloroform in print:

“All men have heard of the Mormon Bible, but few except the "elect" have seen it, or, at least, taken the trouble to read it. I brought away a copy from Salt Lake. The book is a curiosity to me, it is such a pretentious affair, and yet so "slow," so sleepy; such an insipid mess of inspiration. It is chloroform in print. If Joseph Smith composed this book, the act was a miracle — keeping awake while he did it was, at any rate.”

Mormon doctrine evolved. Parts of the Book of Mormon teach modalism. Later Mormons were not Modalists. The Book of Mormon refers to Jesus as the most high God. Later Mormons taught that Elohim is the most high God.

The Book of Mormon says that the Bible was changed by the great and abominable church and in another chapter that there are only two churches: the Church of the Lamb of God and the church of devil.

The strange thing is that a person has to be worthy of the Mormon "Gift of the Holy Ghost" or he will leave them.

I hope this diagram will clarify their afterlife teachings a little:

Spirit Prison is a temporary hell. Outer darkness is the permanent hell.

The Terrestrial kingdom is not a place where people suffer the wrath of God and are cast into Hell. Hell is a temporary place of punishment for the spirits of the disobedient. The Terrestrial kingdom is for resurrected beings and is NOT a place of punishment.
