  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

My SO has been overseas for the last yr. Not easy living thousands of miles apart with a 14hr timezone difference. He told everyone he would finally be comming home friday for a month. So, i get home today (wednesday) and am milling around munching on chips and watching TV. Mom tells me that company has arrived. I turn off the TV, look out the window and see a car. I figure it is someone from church dropped by to ask a favor, or return one. I turn into the kitchen and see my mom, standing beside my ...dun dun dun.....:happy music plays in the background:. boyfriend! ^_^ Ahhhh! He fabricated the entire friday story to surprise everyone. I still don't believe it happened. It's odd to be standing infront of someone who you love and haven't seen in a year and not actually believe they are there, because you have dreamed about it so much..it just seems like another dream....only a little more lively....yes, i pinched myself. lol.

I know several of you out there are worried about your LDR......*proof that it is possible*..no matter how hurtful it is to see them go. ...:D be optimistic! <my advice for today< it does get better and the pain does wear off, seriously, after the first week...it's tons better. Pray about it. God can help you through better then anyone. :prayer:

God bless,
Music

Aww, that is the cutest story! Guys can be SUCH sweethearts!

I know that LDR's can work out -- Iam in an LDR with Gorilla King, and it is working out very nicely!!! I wish I could see him every day, but we are waiting on God's timing! His timing is perfect, and so is His love story for each of our lives!

I am "pursuing" someone who lives about a million miles away it seems and I think that the idea of calling her mom and setting up a whole huge thing sounds like an awesome idea. Thanks for the idea and I think I am actually going to try this :). Good 'ole God. I think he knows what he's doing :).

You just THINK that God knows what He's doing? ;)
U know, The Big Man has a plan and all. Its just that as far as I can see it looks like he sometimes doesnt know what hes doing. Now before I get jumped from alll sides for that comment. Make sure you understand that I know that I can't see the whole plan, so obviously I can't understand all the behind the scenes work. I realize that in the end it works out, it just seems like the middle stuff is really hard :). I guess I just think of it how a friend told me. Sometimes stuff isn't happening to make you grow in faith. Its happening to make them grow. Its not always about me. :)

Peace

I have found that LDR's usually only work if the couple lived near each other when they first formed the relationship and then one (or both) partner(s) have to leave the state or country for whatever reason. LDR's that start online don't typically work out. There are very rare instances in which they do and if they do, then great. But typically the LDR's that have the most success are the ones that start locally and end up being long distance.
