It was to small in for me to read today.

Could you give us a sample here?

Our Church recommends a five finger approach.

And you are the last finger and the theory is that you'll be all warmed up by praying for others first.

Authority was ironically the center finger. 2nd was doctors and teachers so not all athority was included 3rd. Remembering more first was family members. Hum what was 4th?

I'm often more websurf then web master.

Computer has been freezing up. Hopefully it's not another computer virus. Perhaps I should pray for my computer; but, I certainly haven't gone through the other fingers.

I tend to use the PRAY acronymn for extemporaneous prayer: Praise, Repentence, Ask, Yield. That's the model I'm using with my five-year-old, too, though we don't use those words. It's more like Praise/Thanksgiving, Sorry, Ask Blessings, and Praise again.


During my prayer time, I have cards that I have jotted notes on: one for family, one for friends, one for church/mission/world, and one for myself. I'm thinking of re-arranging it, because the church/mission/world one and the friends one get overcrowded, and the myself one is just a few notes and could probably be combined with family pretty easily.

But I was taught early that it's not good form to pray for oneself, so I often have to remind myself to do so. And so I use the card as a reminder.

I really like the daily prayers posted here. I have 'em set to print and use in my daily devotions. *G*

Praying the hand goes like this:

Thumb: those closest to us
First finger: (pointer) those who teach and lead. Who point us to the way.
Second finger: (middle) those in authority. (my SS kids all laugh about that. *G*)
Third finger: (ring finger...the weakest) those who are sick, afflicted, weak.
Fourth Finger: (pinkie) for ourselves.
