Yes, at least in the congregations I have belonged to.

In the Wisconsin Synod, women are not allowed to vote. They also practice closed communion, do not have Military Chaplains, do not ordain Women to the Pastoral Ministry, do not allow women to participate in dispensing communion (I think) and do not pray with other christians they are not in fellowship with.

The Wisconsin Synod is very conservative, and believe in distinct rolls for men, and women. There are some smaller Lutheran Denominations that are even more uptight.

I prefer the LCMS myself.

And the Church of the Lutheran Confession (CLC) the Church of The Lutheran Brethren, are somewhat unique among the Lutheran Brand, I have only viewed their website though, never attended a service.
