So, who are you hoping will become the new Synod President?

Does anyone know the good and bad of each nominee? (not gossip bad but the pros and cons of each person being in office.)

I'm trying to learn as much as I can about our Synod since I was unaware of the problems until recently but I've been having problems with all the Ablaze stuff.

Sorry, not sure right now. I do know who I don't want elected (or shall I say re-elected?).

Amen and Amen!

*G*

From the things I've been reading, and hearing from a friend of mine, I like Schultz. Preus as well.

I doubt very much that either of them would be elected. While they may very well be right for the job, they are also linked with the current division in the synod, from the other perspective.

I don't know much at all about Dinkleman, although he stands a chance from what I've heard.

Therefore from those five, almost by default, it's Dr. Wohlrabe.

But, let's be realistic. Keischnick is going to be re-elected.

Yeah, *sigh* but still...*sigh*

I've heard that he's rather political. Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. I'm guessing it's not a good thing.

NOOOO! Don't ruin my day, Rev! :swoon::D

LCMS needs a good moderate, conservative who can reach across the aisles, who is liked by all and very charismatic but not in a Benny Hin style.

No, not GW......but Dale Meyer. Where is he these days? Siberia?

Peace,
Cos

Dale's busy being president of CSL. I don't know what interest he has in synodical leadership.

Well, accordingly I am not excited by any of the candidates whatsoever. I am even thinking of becoming a member of the W.E.L.S. because of this. Our current LCMS President is not the type I am in favor of and all I can see is the LCMS diving into a division soon.

As much as I would welcome you to the WELS, it's only fair that you realize that the WELS is currently having its own share of problems.

Too many churches these days are treating it like a business rather than a ministry.

I don't know the extend of the problems in the LCMS, but just from my initial readings, it sounds as though the problems are very similar and as frustrating as what the WELS is dealing with.

I wish the LCMS success at their convention this year. Ours is coming in July and I pray that our delegates are led by God and not selfish wants.

Beckie,
Thanks for that. We sometimes think that other Synods don't have the problems we have. You have reminded us that is not the case.

I pray that God guides the delegates at both conventions and that we return our focus where it belongs, on the Cross.
