  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Because now that the holidays are over, life is rearing it's head and I might not have as much time as I'd like on the comp...I figure that it may be better to withdraw now before it starts then not keep up with the pace and be kicked out anyway.

Maybe things might work anyway though...hmm...I'll sleep on it, and I'll be back in the morning.

I think you should be alright, so go ahead and write up a character. Let me look him (or her) over before you post and remember the unwritten rules (good grammar and punctuation, no godmodding, no stupid amateur heroics) and you should be fine.

Again, I'm happy to have you aboard, but if one of the others already joined knows some reason why they don't think you should fit and they let me know, I may let you go if I find their reasoning sufficient. I don't see that happening (and that goes for anyone), but I'm just letting you know in case that one in a million chance should happen

I see Less has already mentioned this in her posts, but I wanted to be sure you others understand this as well. After about three days, all electricity around the world will disappear. Without anyone to man them, the electric plants would have shut down and remained shut down without outside intervention. Therefore things like batteries and other forms of captured energy are highly valuable. This also means there is no electric entertainment, no heat, no a/c, etc. Also, water systems will begin to shut down, but not as quickly. Rust, inactivity and other things will gnaw at the system.
