Lamictal?

Has anyone been on Lamictal? My Dr wants me to start it and I am a little concerned about the side effects. I may be going into the hospital tomorrow to start it. I am a little nervous. But I will happy to get off Risperidone with the weight I have gained.

I have been on it for about 4 years and never had a problem with it. I take 200mg a day.


The one I really had trouble with and REFUSED to take any longer was risperidone. It would not let me concentrate at all.


When I came home and went to do some office work I couldn't.


I did make a mistake by pouring it down the toilet. Your supposed to withdraw slowly. I don't know for sure if it was that but I went into the worst clinical depression. I had never had that before.



Just follow the doctors orders and if you don't get some relief in two weeks then let him know. Never wait to long.

Lexi,
I have been on Lamictal for about seven months and it has helped me. I was on lexapro and risperdone for two years and was still having a lot of problems and side effects from them. I have had no visible effects from Lamictal as of yet and am very happy with it.....God Bless You and EVERYONE!!!!,....Rush

I too was on Risperdone and had the same problem.

Hi Lexi,

I've been on Lamictal for 9 months and have been very happy with it. It was a blessing to come off of the Depakote, hated the weight gain. From what I understand the Lamictal has less side effects.

Keep us posted and let us know how you are doing.
