  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hello It’s ruining my college life. I’ve been in community college for 11 years since 2011 and I never pass my math class. Kpop is too distracting and I wish they would stop showing Kpop groups in news, videos different platforms and other stupid stuff. New groups debut every day. I don’t have time to be fan girling over boy bands and I’m sick and tired of losing friends over everything I do. Money is ruining my life too. If Kpop and money were human beings, I would beat the living daylights out of them. I wrote a letter to money and told it to stay out of my life. I would tell Kpop to stay out of my life too. What’s your opinion on this?

One of the fruits of the Spirit is self control. It sounds like you are not exercising this fruit with Kpop.
It also sounds like an addiction, if it has caused you to try for 11+ years to finish a 2 year college.

The only way to break an addiction is to stop cold turkey. You say that Kpop is ruining your life. If so, why do you continue to indulge in it? My recommendation is to wake up in the morning and choose to stay "clean" of Kpop for the day. Just one day. Then do it again the next day. Before you know it, the cycle will be broken.

I don't understand what you mean by money is also ruining your life. In what way? There is no way for it to stay out of your life, so that is not reasonable. What is reasonable is to learn how to manage your money. Regardless of income, that can and should be done. But without additional information, it's impossible to advise specifically.

Simple: just don't turn the radio on. I don't know you, but let's be real here. Blaming music for not passing CC for 5x the length of a normal degree is a bit ridiculous. Stop making excuses and just get it done.

every time I ask my friends for money, they would just disappear and ignore me, ignore my calls, block me everywhere and ignore my text and social media messages.

Why on earth are you asking your friends for money? Can you blame them for disappearing?

You say "every time" you ask for money. So you do it a lot. No one wants to be friends with someone that treats them as an ATM machine. Something doesn't make sense here.

Well, Paul the apostle wrote that God supplies to us "all things richly to enjoy." (1 Timothy 6:17) Music is one of the many things God has given to us to enjoy. But, Paul also wrote,

1 Corinthians 6:12
12 ...I will not be mastered by anything.

Paul had only one Master, Jesus Christ. And so long as Jesus, in the Person of the Holy Spirit, was in control of Paul, nothing else could be. It seems to me, then, that your K-Pop addiction reveals that your life isn't under God's control. This means, in turn, that you're living in rebellion toward God and cut-off from joyful, transformative life with Him. Along this line of living there is only more bondage, corruption and separation from God.

Galatians 6:7-8
7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap.
8 For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.

James 4:4-10
4 You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.
5 Or do you think that the Scripture speaks to no purpose: "He jealously desires the Spirit which He has made to dwell in us"?
6 But He gives a greater grace. Therefore it says, "GOD IS OPPOSED TO THE PROUD, BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE."
7 Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
9 Be miserable and mourn and weep; let your laughter be turned into mourning and your joy to gloom.
10 Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you.

1 John 2:15-17
15 Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world.
17 The world is passing away, and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God lives forever.

Philippians 3:7-10
7 But whatever things were gain to me, those things I have counted as loss for the sake of Christ.
8 More than that, I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish so that I may gain Christ,
9 and may be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own derived from the Law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which comes from God on the basis of faith,
10 that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death;

maybe get a part time job & finish college so you can then get a job in your field?

if you're busy working & going to college, they'll be no time for kpop

there are tons of part-time jobs avail so there should be no trouble getting one
