I think Follow the Leader was their best. Korn wrote some pretty cool songs, but they also wrote some of the worst lyrics of all time...very hit and miss.
I love your Modest Mouse quote there... Very cute, i love them lol

You know what? I had a real HUGE obsession with them 3 years ago...I was totally dedicated to them. They were my band. I had a trillion posters covering every spot on my walls and ceilings.I couldnt stop listening to them. I recorded all their videos and watched them a million times a day...I had everything from keychains to patches, and get music magazines only if they were in it, it was insane. I remember crying when they won best group at the MVA'S...I was sooooooooooooo happy for them...Follow the leader was the best...Freak on the leash is just the coolest video they ever did...I used to have the HUGEST crush on Monkey.....Then I rededicated my life to Christ and I guess I fell away...:(....Coldplay has tooken my number one spot...What a change..

Ex-Korn fan. It troubles me to think that you guys think Untouchables was their best. Follow the Leader? Life Is Peachy?
Right on. I like Follow the Leader the best, though I also like the self-titled a lot.

The quality of the songs has been so downhill since Issues. I really like some of their new stuff, like Did My Time, Thoughtless, and Here To Stay, but IMHO most of the new stuff is pretty bad. Their Right Now video was god-awful (though the actual song wasn't terrible) and Word Up is such a terrible song and video that it makes me want to hit my head on the wall, which would be pleasurable by comparison.

Jonathan said that his favorite album was Untouchables, and like it or not, they did put the most effort into it. I think it's very good, dark, a little more... emotional? dramatic?... than the others. But I'll have to say that Issues was my favorite. I don't know exactly how to describe it. It doesn't seem quite as brutal as LIP and FTL. Untouchables has its brutal moments, but not like K@#%!, Kill You, or My Gift to You. I hope I'm making sense. What's confusing is that I've seen a lot of people slam Issues... What's up with that? Anyway, I do like a few of their newer songs, like Did My Time and Alone I Break. Yeah, yeah, I know that's not "old school," or "heavy," but I think that it's good psychological stuff. In fact -- and some might disagree -- I think that koRn has left their blunt-object-trauma days behind and has matured into a band with a more introspective style. You can see it foretold in Issues' Dead, Make Me Bad, and Wake Up, then again in Untouchables' Alone I Break and Noone's There, and once more in the conscience examination of TALITM's Everything I've Known, the resolution of Did My Time, and the emotional triumph and maturation of Alive. I'm not trying to make Jonathan out to be a goody-two-shoes, which he is definitely not. I'm just saying that he and the band have matured over the years.

Speaking of "Untouchables", did you know that Evanescence recently covered a song from that album ("Thoughtless")? I haven't heard the original, but I think Evanescence performs it quite nicely.

Caedmon, you're too Catholic to be a KorN fan. ;)

Really? I didn't know that.

^_^... I don't listen to them nearly as much. I prefer classical mass music at the moment. Diminishes the road-rage. ^_^
