  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Lord I ask that you will lead us in this that we are imparting, Knowing You and Jesus the one you sent.

Jhn 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

To know God wow is that possible, according to the Word of God it is what eternal life is all about. I would add this next scripture also.

1Cr 2:12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

1Cr 2:13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

1Cr 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know [them], because they are spiritually discerned.

1Cr 2:15 But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.

1Cr 2:16 For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.

This knowing God must come through spiritual discernment not through the natrual. We lift you up Jesus come and make yourself known to us even as we are on this journey.

What are your thoughts friends?

Ya I know what you mean brother, I can only handle pieces at a time, I have been overwhelmed with His presence and had to say "ok God I think I've had enough for now.
I have heard that in worship, Lord show us your Glory, I would wonder do they know what they are asking for. Death to the flesh for no man can see God and live we must see Jesus first and His rightiousness covers us. I know that is more of this man that must be put to death, self, most importantly. The battle goes on, between spirit and flesh may my flesh lose. Praise you Lord Jesus for your many blessing, may I share in you suffering that I may see your glory.

Indeed! I believe this is how Job cried out to God when his life was a disaster. He knew His God was a wonderful Saviour. Despite every trouble He knows God has His way in restoring happiness. Perhaps he was in fact ready to leave earth focusing on the hereafter instead. But just when he thought his life is doomed, God did restore his happiness twice fold the happiness he had.

Let us surrender to the throne of Grace, even in our deepest grief, for He will embrace us with His Spirit, uplifting us to overcome every pain in life.

Amazing Lord we have! We just can't stop praising and glorifying His Name. Jesus, lover of my soul...You shall always be precious to me, Saviour!

Speaking of Job here is some of my favorite verses that Job spoke to God:Job 42:1 ¶ Then Job answered the LORD, and said,

Job 42:2 I know that thou canst do every [thing], and [that] no thought can be withholden from thee.

Job 42:3 Who [is] he that hideth counsel without knowledge? therefore have I uttered that I understood not; things too wonderful for me, which I knew not.

Job 42:4 Hear, I beseech thee, and I will speak: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me.

Job 42:5 I have heard of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee.

Job 42:6 Wherefore I abhor [myself], and repent in dust and ashes.

When we see God with the eyes of our heart we are cast down and repent in dust and ashes, I am not worthy oh God forgive this worm of a man.
Then He lifts us up. A humble and contrite spirit He will not refuse.
thanks all for your heartfelt responses, we are going on the Way, let us continue.....

And remember King David? He lamented in his grief to God. His Psalms are a great expression of how humble he set himself in order to have more of the Lord fill His life.

Ps 119: 28 My soul is weary with sorrow ; strengthen me according to Your Word

Ps 119:34 Give me understanding and I will keep your law and obey it with all my heart.

Ps 119:50 My comfort in my suffering is this; Your promise preserves my life

Ps 119:71 It was good for me to be afflicted, so that I might learn your decrees

Ps 119: 75 I know O Lord that your laws are righteous, and in faithfulness you have afflicted me.

Ps 119 : 107 I have suffered much; preserve my life, O LORD, according to your word.
Ps 119:108 Accept, O LORD, the willing praise of my mouth, and teach me your laws.

The humbled is lifted up. He is so compassionate towards us!

Yes it was good to be afflicted, I am so thankful for all the distresses I had to endure for it caused me to turn to the cross, As I considered the cross and all that Jesus had to endure through shame and suffering it tore at my heart and I wept in my room upon the floor, He met me where I was at and changed my heart and birthed His Spirit within me, it is so precious to realize that Jesus' Spirit came to live inside of us and being born from above transforms us from dead to living in the twinkling of an eye.
