Know Your Love Languages

It's good to learn both what your love language is and that of your Significant Other.

Some of this post from other similar post in other forums.

In one of Gary Chapman's books - the Love Languages of God,
he names five love languages that are 'our expressions of love'.
1 - Words of Affirmation
2 - Quality Time
3 - Gifts (yes, literal gifts, presents)
4 - Acts of Service
5 - Physical Touch

Each of us ministers in one of these and each of us is ministered to BY one of these more than the others.

I did take the quiz and I am a "Quality Time" and "Words of Affirmation" person.
That did not surprise me because words are very important to me.
I have a hard time picking out cards because I want everything on the card to be how I feel.

His;
1) Physical touch
2) Gift-giving & Acts of Service; pretty close

Although, he did not take the test, I can see it.
This is where we butt heads, pretty much.
If we are together, we are affectionate with each other, but if we are not; I do not hear from him, and feel unloved....

I do try to speak his other LL's as far as doing stuff for him he needs or giving him things he would like, within my budget and time allowance. I am very grateful for his generousity, don't get me wrong; this is just my heart speaking, I guess.

Yeah, and to go so much as to ask him not to give so much.
I would rather have his time.
He says he can't deal with too much stress...
I know my family is busy and loud.

I'm a Quality Time person. There was this girl I liked at church who was leading a ministry. I signed up to be on her ministry team and help out. I pictured it as me spending time with her and laughing and stuff, not really doing anything worthwhile, you know? But she contacts me and immediately asks me to work on some project on my computer that would have taken a long time, or else go on some wild goose chasing looking for things she needed. I was like, "No thanks." I didn't want to do any of that...stuff.

Just one point less on Physical touch and Acts of Service which tied.
A medium score on Words of Affirmation.
And the minimum possible score on Receiving Gifts.
