CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hi Ashley! I love to knit. There used to be a lot of knitting-related threads on these forums, but they fizzled out. It would be good to get one going again.
How long have you been knitting for and what do you like to knit? Do you have anything on your needles at the moment. I have been knitting since childhood - many years ago - and like to knit small projects such as phone covers, dish cloths and tea cosies. I knit bigger projects in the past but they took several years to complete.

What do you do with the blankets you knit and crochet?
I have been knitting a dolls' clothes set. So far I have completed a doll's jacket and a cap, but think I might have to start again as I may not have enough yarn to work the whole outfit in one colour. I've been undoing a very old project to get more yarn and it has been badly joined in some places.
I don't crochet.

I’m still knitting and crocheting blankets because I have a problem following patterns these days.
Most of what I make I donate to warm spaces for people in need.
I was sad to learn that not only do we have bed poverty here but some children have only a coat to cover them when they go to bed
