  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Welcome to Christianforums,

I hope you enjoy visiting here as much as I do.

I learned to knit about a year ago or so, I love doing it. I've thought about joining a shawl ministry that I found out about here on this forum.
To be honest, I've knitted afghans and scarves so far, my next thing to learn are mittens. I also would like to learn to crochet.

God Bless,

rosemoss

Hi,

Does anyone here love to knit? I do. I started knitting when I was very ill with a tumor. I have just finished my first big sweater. I am hoping now to start knitting hats for premies and cancer patients.

Good lord forgive me...I love knitting so much I sometimes fear it borders on yarnolatry lol. And being a male knitter is even more weird, you should see the looks I get where I live when I start knitting lol.

I would love to learn to knit, but I have no idea where to start. My sister suggested a good book to start with, but they are out of stock on Amazon.com. Anyone else have any ideas? I love to watch movies in the evening but find I need something for my hands to do other than snack on food. My hips are big enough as is!

I make quilts for the children at the local children's hospital so that they have a little something soft to cuddle with in the long hours they have to go through, but the sewing machine is loud and I can't afford a newer quiet one. Not that the old one isn't a great sewing machine anyhow. Much better (read: I already am used to this one and don't like change) than any of the "new" models. But I'd love to learn to knit as well. Needlepoint needs too much attention for my liking, as I seem to enjoy multi-tasking.

So if anyone could suggest a good kit, book or video that could help me out... that would be awesome.
