  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Does anyone here have any experience with knitting looms? I recently got a set of Knifty Knitters and have been searching the internet in search of patterns, as there aren't a whole lot of instruction books out there. I love mine! I started out making the hat pattern that came with it, in various sizes. It's a great way to use up little odds and ends of yarn and the projects work up really fast. I'm going to give some as gifts and others to a local charity. The instructions that came with the knitter call for bulky yarn, but after a little experimenting, I'm getting great results with regular knitting worsted weight.

My grandmother taught me to crochet when I was about 9 and I still have the hook she bought for me. I love the look of knitting, but I don't knit anymore because it makes my wrists hurt too much. I like cross stitch too, but right now I'm in a knitting loom hat phase.

I'm one of these people that can't watch T.V. with husband without doing something with my hands. I learned to knit about 4 yrs. ago. I've made a few things but I really like the lacey doilys. I'm trying to do that know using small sz 3 needle. I have to keep projects small because I get bored too quick with them.

I don't know if you have searched for loom books recently, but there are 4 or 5 that have I have run across in the past few months.

I have a couple of those books and I have found some wonderful free patterns on the internet. One of the things I like is that besides using up some of my leftover stash, I don't have to think too much about it. If I get interrupted ("MOMMEEEE!!!"), I generally don't lose my place. It's fun, it's something different for me, and it goes really fast. I'm making lots and lots of hats and intend to give away most of them. The ones that don't become gifts, I plan to give to a local charity and/or the Ronald McDonald House where we stay frequently. I can make a baby hat in an hour, a child size one in an evening, and an adult size one in a couple evenings. If I knew how, I'd post some pictures.
