Aaaaah!

The scales have been lifted from my eyes. :sorry:

There are two seperate organisations with two different names. There used to be a Knights of St Columba club next to my house; the only time I ever saw inside was when I went to vote.

Apologies for the mix-up.

as has been said in breach of the cannon

Well shouldn't they be fired then.

Sorry.

I'll get me coat.

I'd correct you, but I might get a warning. :)
You would be wrong. One of my favorite people in the world is both a Mason and a KofC. He is Catholic and apparently never heard that there was a problem in being a member of both. Since he was a Mason before becoming a member of KofC then one would think he would have heard something along the way. It may be enforced in some areas, but obviously it is not enforced across the board.

Also, the difference between Masons and Knights are:

Knights, MUST accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
Masons, any "supreme being" is acceptable..

So we have gone from "my Christian faith is better then your Christian faith" to "my fraternity is better then your fraternity".

Yes Geeter I must enforce your comments , that is how I have found the issue. Even after talking exstensively to several Priests.

I would add however that this information is much easier to find on the internet than elswhere. So if you are not Web friendly you could possibly still be ignorant on the issue altogether.

I am sorry if MY remarks have led to that portrayal. I tried to give a report of the facts. It is for the reader to come to their own conclusion.

Informed conclusions should be based on the correct facts.

Personally I do not beleive that any faith is superior to another. As I do not beleive that Freemasonry is superior to any other group or Fraternity.

Like I do not beleive a red car is better than a blue car.

Bill, are you suggesting that Christianity isn't any more true than any other religion?

Read what the Church says:

"Therefore the Church's negative judgment in regard to Masonic associations remains unchanged since their principles have always been considered irreconcilable with the doctrine of the Church and therefore membership in them remains forbidden. The faithful who enroll in Masonic associations are in a state of grave sin and may not receive Holy Communion."

Yeah, we are so ill informed

The original question was " my Christian faith is better than yours."

I was just ansering that question , thats all.

To me, my Christian faith is what sustains me, for another it may be different. Who am I to say yours is inferior, thats my point.

Nobody said you are ill informed.
The section of cannon law has already been posted.

I am confused as why you seem so angry?

The issue is is " What is the difference between Knights of Columbus and Masonic Lodge"

How do you explain the difference without the things that have been posted.

I am happy to debate the rights and wrongs with you if you wish. But i think the moderator would like it in the correct area.

Set it up and let me know.

Thers no eye rolling going on here, you can evangelize till your eyes pop. Good for you.

All I ask is you have the facts, there are Lodges in Freemasonry or to be more correct there are "Orders" of Freemasonry that celebrate the life of Christ and that insist you declare yourself a Christian in order to become a member.

The Main Degrees of Freemasonry are open to all faiths , race and color. It does not and never has required its members to leave their faith to which they belong. It offers no substitute religion.

Freemasonry is not an enemy of the Christian Church.

Christianity contains the fullness of Truth - so while you may find rays of it elsewhere, which are certaintly respectable, its not Christianity by far.

I'd like to request that for those who need to take a couple of steps back and chill to do so. There will be absolutely NO debating in this thread, or this forum. Snide comments, subtle flames and sarcastic rolling of eyes will stop immediately, or I'll issue warnings.

And the debate (by people who are not supposed to be debating here) goes on and on and on . . .

Recently a Catholic Mod came down hard on another member for "debating" in OBOB and yet we have two Catholic mods debating here in PRE.
I realize this sounds like baiting, but I am confused so I must ask:

Are you suggesting my profession that Christianity contains the fullness of Truth is something that protestants hold to be untrue?

The OP was "What is the diffients in Knights of Columbus and Masonic Lodge?", not "Why is Knights of Columbus better then the Masonic Lodge?".

Difference:

Knights: Must be a Christian to join
Masons: Can honor any god you please to join.
