Kneeling

Are we the only Christian faith that formally kneels when we pray at Mass, or even at home?
Kneeling brings out a humbleness and submission in me when I am praying that I don't sometimes feel when sitting.
And why is it that other denominations don't ?

I think Lutherans do. They had kneelers at the one I visited anyway. The church I grew up in, people would kneel on the ground, with their face in the seat of the pew, which, looking back, was pretty cool for a protestant group.

Anglicans do.(Episcopalians included) I don't think anyone besides Catholics, Anglicans and Lutherans(maybe Orthodox) kneel. I know Methodists and Baptists don't.

I go to a non-denom and we do occasionally kneel to pray, especially when we pray "over" someone or something that needs "extra" prayer. Hope that helps!

ETA: Probably the reason we don't do it more often is the absence of kneelers and the hard floor!!

Orthodox definitely DO! They don't even have pews. Stand, kneel, prostrate. I think only the very elderly or expectant mothers may have a chair.

Baptists kneel, they just dont have kneelers...they tend to get down on the floor or go up to the alter and get down on their knees to pray...i thought everyone did that til i went to mass....kneelers are way better and they dont hurt your back
