If you ever interested in getting into using a Linux operating system for your computer, I have a friend down in Mexico City who has been working on and off for the last few years doing one:
http://www.klikit.org/
It is based off of Kubuntu (which is of course the KDE desktop version of Ubuntu) It tends to be on the desktop more Windows like, so it is more comfortable to those who would be interested and have worked for it for years.
One reason I like it is that this has been pretty much a one man project, and the stuff he's done is pretty nice. Plus its more a community orientated project, rather than a commercial system.
He also has a "storehouse" where its just a matter of a click or two to install software.
The project is currently on an Alpha level now, but really shows some promise.
