  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I've got two cats, both of them shorthair. One sheds some, and regular combing helps a lot. But the other one sheds SO MUCH! If I pick him up, my shirt and jeans will be all covered with his hair. When I comb him, I easily get a comb-full of fur, or even two. And it's not like he's getting bald or something - he is a healthy cat with a nice looking coat. Any ideas why? I wish I could do something to reduce his shedding. :help:

 i was reading ur post, i have a very very furry long hair cat, that i adopted 2 yrs ago, shes 3, now. I brush her forever it seems! with a good cat brush, and comb, its constant, she also, is forever grooming herself, and is it ever the cutest thing in the world!! :D she sits up against chairs and spreads her legs open(what a lady huh?lol) and licks and cleans herself silly! its so comical to watch, she'll spend a good 20 minutes or so, doing this. lol anyway, i think its maybe the summer months, i was told that, thats when they shed alot, i dunno of anything else it could be? my mother has 3 short-hair cats, and they shed all the time to, and their very healthy. I hope this helps somewhat, :)

What kind of food are you feeding him? The food quality can affect a cats shedding, the better quality, the less they shed. Probably won't be a drastic change though. One of my cats has an absolutely gorgeous coat that sheds like there's no tomorrow. Put her on a better cat food and the shedding slowed, but hasn't stopped, I still com away with cat fur on me. It's just not as bad as it was. Brushing helps, but don't brush too often. It can cause hair breakage and damage. Only do it about every other day. A bath every other week may help, but no guarantees.
