  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

So last week I went to my friend Brittany's house, and she got the most adorable kittens EVER. They're no bigger than my hand, six weeks old, and SOOOOOOO cute. The boy kitten is black with white paws and a white tipped tail, and the girl kitten is tiger-striped. The boy is more hyper and active, while the girl is more calm....and I got to play with them for an hour! Too bad I didn't get to take them home with me (although I doubt hiding them in a college dorm would be too wise).

So how 'bout y'all share any kitten or cat stories here :)

The first kitten I got came from a very bad home. The house seriously had holes in the floor--> real BIG holes that you could see the floor underneath from!! Needless to say, the guy that had her wasn't an award winning pet owner (being an alcoholic and not feeding the cats enough).

When I brought her home she was sooo tiny. She sat in her little kitty-condo, sitting straight up, shivered out of pure fear and eventually fell asleep like that! She would let me go even remotly close to her without hissing at me and running for her life. It was really humorous to see her finally step out of the condo though. She took her one paw and cautiously petted the carpeted floor and then shot right back in the condo (she had never touched carpet before). Now she's the perfect lap cat.

My other cat was totally fearless. He would just fling his little tiny black body all over the place. He'd even jump off of my shoulder when I was standing (a big jump for a little kitten). He STILL hasn't outgrown his daredevil side. I got him from a house where 3 divorced guys lived together in a tiny tiny house with their 3 female cats. All their cats got pregnant at the same time and they ended up with 17 kittens!!! (let that be a lesson to spay your cats!! ) When I came to pick him up he was soooo tiny. I asked the guys if he was too young for me to bring home so they put him in the food dish to see if he'd eat any of it. Since he did, they let me take him.

Looking back, I probably should have let him stay with his mom a bit longer but that house was so gross and unkept it actually WAS best for me to take him home!
