Nothing to fuss over. Just relax :)
(that's my diva baby Sasha up there)

My mom's cat was pretty small and had 3 kittens (they were FAT kittens too). 2 have good homes (one being our neighbor). They wanted to keep the other one. What I would do is prep an area for your cat to have labor in. My parents got a cardboard box and stuck a blanket in there and kept her in the room and she had kittens right where they prepared it (of course it wouldn't be the first time they've had kittens). For the most part your momma kitty is going to be with the kittens and not leave them so if you keep them away from the dog the dog should be fine.

My cat is pregnant. She is an indoor cat...but a neighborhood male managed to sneak into the apartment. She isn't even a year old and she is small. I am worried for her...and on top of that, I will have kittens to get rid of. Fun, Fun. On top of that...my dog is afraid of kittens. He loves cats and even older kittens are OK...but he is terrified of newborns. Weird.

Your dog sounds like my dog. . .

Luther who despite his name is very much unlike his namesake in that our dog Luther is stupid and a coward while Martin Luther was the opposite on both ends.

Anyways Luther the cowardly dog (who is almost 80 pounds) is afraid of the scary Robin's that sometimes hop around the area looking for worms.

I took him for a walk once and upon seeing one he barked and growled at the bird and proceeded to hide behind me. He has also hidden behind my wife because a threatening plastic bag was flying in the wind.

This reminds me of my cat about 12 years ago...this was when I lived in the country and actually wanted a litter of kittens. Anyhow...I made a box, like you said...complete with comfy blanket...but she decided that she was going to have her kittens in a huge box of stuffed animals...and the poor kittens fell through the animals to the bottom of the box...and mom couldn't get to them. I moved them all to the proper box and all was well...silly mom cat.
