  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

This is a show that I didn't know much about, and purchesed the first DVD on a whim, and had no idea what to expect.

What I got was a suprisingly good and very entertaining anime. It's a little slow, but it has good animation, music, and an interesting premise.

Basically Kino is travelling from place to place, seeing how different people see the world and live their lives. Getting into trouble every once in a while, usually it's Kino looking at the world.

I'm having a difficult time thinking of a good way to describe it, but the best way to describe the show is by the catch phrase you see and hear in the occasional advertisement: "Drift along for the ride."

I personally loved Kino's Journey from episode one. While I would definately reccomend it to anyone who wants something different (or enjoyed shows like Haibane Renmei or Niea_7), I would like to know if anyone else out there has seen it, or has an opinion about it.

but glad you got a good anime out of buying on impulse!i tried that once and it was a total waste of money.

I used to do it all the time. It wasn't like I could rent or download it when I first got started into anime. Some were good some were bad - the bad ended up on Ebay so I made out in the end either way ;)

To be honest, I have had remarkably good luck picking up anime that I have never seen before (especially compared to my friends).

Back before I knew where to look for reviews of different animes, I picked up Evangelion, Gundam Wing, Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, Ah My Goddess, and Cardcaptor Sakura. When I think about it, it's amazing that I hardly ever picked up terrible anime back then. Maybe I have a sense for it?

Then again, it took me forever to pick up Nadesico, and that's one of my favorites.

Well, I suppose that this is just about the end of my thread. :(

Just incase anyone was wondering, the second disk of Kino's Journey comes out next week in the US. (I am so happy! ) I've been waiting for this with baited breath for over a month. I'll at least make one more post here to let you guys know if it was any good or not.

I feel like a moron, posting in my own forum three times in a row. :sigh: Well, I said last week that I would let you guys know about disk two of Kino's Jorney when I watched it, so here we go:

It was just as cool as I expected.

There was a little more action, but the interesting storylines are still very interesting and you always wonder how the episode will end up. This is one of my top five anime series right now, and I would advise just about anyone who likes anime to check this out.

I hope you guys find this informative. If you have any questions, I will be happy to answer. That being said, my post here will probably be the death of the thread, and I will do no more to try and keep it alive.
