Solomon is a type of the apostasy, the falling away. Spiritual harlotry. The temple he built was a fleshly fulfillment of Nathan's prophecy to David that God would build him a house, meant to show the futility of human nature. He is to Jesus what Ishmael was to Isaac. A failed false fulfillment of a promise of God brought about by human effort apart from God. The amount of gold he received in one year - 666 talents. His throne... 6 lions, 6 steps, 6 lions. Solomon was a type of the best that flesh could achieve...of the beast, if you will. A type of spiritual harlotry. This all is a type of the apostate church and its progress through time until today...fleshly beauty, riches, wisdom, even blessing from God...but no obedience, no love of the Word, no separation from the world. He was beloved by God but he himself had no love for Truth. He was the offspring of the sin of a man of God.

Just some thoughts.

Also, in the days of Solomon is when God put His name forever at the holy site.
1 Kings 9:3
KJV

Solomon didn't build the "temple of God" and God didn't put His name there "forever." His Name is somewhere else now, nowhere even remotely related to Solomon's "house of sacrifice." But most christians have never heard the real "good news" and don't even know where His Name is today. Sad.
